If you go to Sintra you have to try "travesseiro". In Sintra there is this very traditional sort of bakery called Piriquita. "Travesseiro" is a sweet pastry filled with a cream of eggs and almonds. They have different options of sweet and desserts. Is possible to eat there or take away.

A great stop in historic Sintra for yummy local pastries and coffee. The pasteis natal is a must!! Its located up one of the main side streets off the main road in historic Sintra. It has a yellow front.

Piriquita is a small cafe, in Sintra. You must to go. Queijadas de Sintra are wonderfull. If you go there, you must eat them.

Recommend as a real traditional Portuguese cafe. This is absolutely correct.

We traveled around Portugal for 2 weeks and had sweets all around. These were the best we had. Pasteis da Cruz Alta was an interesting find.
