Pros
-- Spacious and comfortable accommodations = nice kitchen with lots of appliances, big bathroom and living room, bedroom
-- Kid friendly = toys, games, DVDs to entertain kids; can rent a cot and high chair for extra
-- Helpful owners = willing to give suggestions and recommendations, offered to let us use a back pack carrier for our son, and gave us a pack of diapers when we ran out of diapers.
-- Independence = loved tht the fridge was stocked with juice, homemade jam, milk, eggs, yogurt so that we could cook breakfast (only time on our trip when we cooked for ourselves).

Cons
-- Wifi service is poor in the kitchen and bedroom.
-- No ability to control heat in the rooms = when we arrived in the late afternoon, we decided to stay in the unit until dinner and realized that the heat wasn't turned on. We learned that the heat automatically turns on at 5 or so and shuts down in the morning at 10. However, Stuart was very kind to turn the heat on for us when we asked. So, if you aren't planning to leave the unit fom 10-5, it might be a little cold unless you ask.

My husband and I recently stayed at Cinco when we were on our honeymoon in Portugal. Carole and Stuart were both extremely helpful and friendly hosts. The apartment you stay in makes you feel like you're staying with friends or family. It's very comfortable.

There is a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and extra room. Plus you have access to the garden around the house (which offers a beautiful view). Additionally, we got in late for our stay, but Carole let us leave our bags at the house so we could see the sites the next day - very kind and helpful! Only (very small) downside: the bed is two twin beds pushed (almost) together.

We had a great stay here would love to go back if ever in Sintra again!

We very much enjoyed our brief stay at Cinco in late September. Carole and Stuart have substantially renovated their house, including the apartment. The apartment is large and comfortable and beautifully appointed. The couch in the living room faces two glass doors that open on to a terrace with beautiful views. There are two sitting areas on the terrace, and an inside sun room on the grounds. Carole is the most thoughtful host imaginable—she even stocks up the refrigerator with milk, eggs, and juice, and also provides fresh bread. We’d brought some provisions with us, but almost everything we needed she had already supplied. The kitchen is well-equipped with all the small appliances you could want for easy cooking of breakfast at least (that’s all we used it for). The bathroom is very large, with very plush towels and excellent shower. The house is a very short walk from the center of the Old Village in Sintra, so very convenient to the sights there. We blew a tire on our rental car the last day we were there, and Stuart was very helpful in changing it, and trying to help us find a replacement tire – beyond anything one could expect. Carole is also helpful with restaurant recommendations—we ate at the nearby Tulha’s both nights, and had terrific meals there.

This was one night of our honeymoon, and was lovely.

The accommodation is very nice, Carole the owner was lovely, and very helpful, the views from the terrace are great, day or night.

The rooms comfortable, although the beds were a little too soft for us.

Great location, very close to Sintra, and the reccomendations for dining from Carole, were spot on and very very good.

Overall, would be back in an instant.

I have little (if anything) to add to the many enthusiastic reviews of Cinco. Every aspect of the experience was outstanding, including such details as comfort of bed and good water pressure in the shower. Carole, whose labor of love Cinco is, was as accommodating as could be, and we even met the rather reclusive Oliver (cat) as we were leaving after a wonderful stay (having enjoyed Jack's (the other cat) visits on the preceding three days. If you're going to Sintra, you should stay here -- even if you usually don't like B&B's.
