Generally speaking a good option near the town centre in Sintra.
The food was good and so were the portions - perhaps more expensive if compared to other places, but it's also a different aproach to food and, these days, you pay for that. Good marks for the chicken breast (tender and juicy) and for the chips (home style). There are also vegetarian options.
The salad, however, was "plain" when compared to the main dish. Olive oil and vinegar were brought to the table to season the salad, but no salt - I'm sure you can just ask for it, but, come on... I know this is just a detail, but still...
Dessert was a bit of a disappointment. Although they were good I was expecting something better, considering the rest of the menu.
The food is good but it could be brilliant. All in all I got the feeling that for some reason they were not going the extra mile and I don't think it has to do with chef's ability. Maybe they're afraid of going beyond their confort zone?
The decoration is modern and laid-back, although elegant. General feel: relaxed, cosy, kind of "chic enough to impress but you don't have to dress fancy". Being Portuguese I felt the whole place was aimed more at the foreign tourist and not so much at the locals, which was a bit of a turnoff for me.
Staff were helpful and friendly.
I will go back!
