“Great tapas, nice atmosphere steps away from the crazy tourist traffic.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2013

A treat to find delicious Portugese tapas in a quiet cozy place just steps away from the crazy tourist scene. The owner was very friendly and helped suggest a great Alvarinho wine. There was nice jazz playing and great food. Very friendly service. I recommend this classy little restaurant.

“Very good local food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2013

A simple but good menu offered a variety of local dishes. Very good prawns in a couchette boat with peppers, aubergine and other veritable in a ratatouille. Extremely tasty. The veal with Madeira and rice was great. The rice cooked with a little coriander and toasted walnuts and lardons. Delicious. The waiter was extremely helpful with the wines of which there was a good selection by the glass and bottle.

“Tourist trap prices for ordinary food”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2013

Small portions which was fine as the food was not great. A main course of roasted vegetables for 12 euros consisted of about 6 pieces of barely warmed vegetables in a watery sauce with a teaspoon-sized lump of mozzarella. The spaghetti carbonara was at least more substantial but the sauce was very thin. The only available puddings were Vienetta-style frozen desserts. Wine was OK but less good value than in other Sintra restaurants.

“Friendly, yummy tapas bar”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2013

We were recommended this place by the staff of our hotel, as we were looking for some where nice but within a short walking distance with our nearly two year old. The idea of sharing everything and eating little bit of different dishes also appealed to my Japanese parents visiting us in Portugal.

Although they had no high chair they put us in the corner bench seat which was very thoughtful of them, and our waiter, Vasco, could not have been more friendly nor attentive.

Five of us, including baby had between us 8 tapas dishes and we were bursting at the seams in the end. The chickpea and bacalhau salad was delicious, as the bacalhau wasn't too salty. The prawns in garlic and olive oil was done to perfection. The octopus salad, although some may say was just a little bit too vinegary, was delicious with the octopus being the perfect combination of tenderness and chewiness. For dessert, the ice cream cake is recommended, it looks more like a mountain than a cake, but tastes delicious.

All in all, a great way to end a day of awe and enjoyment in Sintra.

“Good service, extremely poor food, would never go back”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

The restaurant looks nice and the menu implies quality. The service is friendly, but the food we had was shocking. We paid 11 euros for a frozen pizza that was clearly not prepared in that kitchen. The base was impossible to cut through the stodge. I ordered a courgette dish stuffed with sauteed veg. The courgette half was virtually raw to the point it was difficult to cut and had 0 taste and was 10 euros. I don't know if the meat dishes are any better, but the veg dishes and the pizza are atrocious. Worst food I've had in quite some time.
