“Watch out for the "starters"”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2014 via mobile

The other reviews about the small atmosphere are spot on. The food here is very good, some of the best we have had in Portugal. And not terribly expensive. But watch out if you "offered starters". You will pay dearly for them. We took up the "offer" with some trepidation figuring we'd pay for it. The bread was excellent (1.6€ each), Portuguese equivalent of prosciutto (6.20€ one serving enough for two) was ok, melon (4.8€ one serving enough for two) again ok, local cheese (6.8€ one serving enough for two) outstanding. Those ended up doubling our lunch bill as we were trying to each light for lunch (one sea bass and a salad both of which were excellent). The house wine, white, was very good and inexpensive. Do eat here but just know what you are getting and paying for.

“Great authentic food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2013 via mobile

We got recommended by our hosts and were not disappointed! Small restaurant with a good menu. The food was very traditional and very delicious! The staff was nice, very timid with their English, which was fine.

“Very Nice!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2013

We drove past Mousica several times and finally stopped for lunch. Coffee and snacks downstairs and the main dinning room upstairs. The family is woderful and the food is very, very good. Try the the scampi appetizer...enough for an entree. Everything we tried over several visits was excellent. Early evening and you can have your meal after Tomo has arranged your chairs so you can view the football game. We were there during the European Cup 2012 so the excitement was pretty high. All in all, a wonderful restaurant with great food, excellent service and a nice quiet neighborhood atmosphere.

“excellent authentic restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012

We found this restaurant by chance but it was absolutely worth it. It is very small, restaurant on the first floor, bakery and bar on the ground floor. Family run, one of the sons is the waiter. Excellent menu, many local dishes, good local wine list with excellent advice from the waiter. If we had stayed another night in Sintra we would have returned.
