Excellent food. Very nice service. Good ambiance. With nice weather the lunch or dinner can be served outside. Clear value for money. Recommend to try it!

“A mixed experience”
Reviewed June 21, 2014

We turned up here for lunch, advised that restaurants are better value in Sao Pedro than the tourist traps of central Sintra. It was in a pretty square and we were warmly welcomed. But the waiters then filled our tables with an excessive number of appetisers and were no doubt disappointed when we rejected all but the rather dry (old?) olives and bread. We were then presented a large raw fish and told it could be cooked for us for 30 euros. Again an impression of disappointment when we refused. We ordered salmon gratin and a vegetarian cannelloni. These were both hearty dishes - enormous portions and unusual for local menus. Came with a free side salad which was a nice touch. The "cannelloni" was lasagne with a fairly runny filling of spinach, but quite pleasant. The salmon was a little odd (as mentioned by a previous reviewer). More a salmon sauce which was reminiscent of tinned soup with a tiny bit of salmon and a few shrimps in it, and a generous topping of melted cheese and mashed potato. Definitely the kind of filling comfort food that was welcome after a long walk on a not very warm day. Other tables were eating more traditional fish and meet dishes and they looked very good, all enormous.

“Busiest place in a quiet section of town.”
Reviewed June 8, 2014

We were recommended to go here by our host - and it was good. All the other restaurants nearby here were closed but it didn't feel like a last resort to go here. Locals came a little later and the atmosphere was nice. Food and service all above average and the staff were friendly, the wine kept us happy. We only stayed a couple of nights in Sintra and this was the better of the two.

“Good food by the market in Sintra”
Reviewed April 27, 2014

We were recommended this restaurant by our driver on a Sunday visit to Sintra. After walking through the buzzing market, we had a delicious meal, with very generous portions. I am not a meat eater, but my fish was grilled to perfection. The goat dish was delicious according to the meat eaters in my group and is only served on weekends. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
