“the real traditional "queijadas" from Sintra.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2013

"Queijadas" is the most traditional sweet from Sintra and this is ancient and real house of "queijadas". It´s a small shop with a few tables outside as well. There´s not too much to say about this, it worth for the experience of trying the "queijadas" inhouse or take away.

Visit Sintra without trying this sweet is like visting London and miss the Big Ben.

By the way, for who it concerns, the sweet bases is almonds, cinnamond and small part of fresh cheese, that brings a very nice texture and the outside it´s crispy.

“Delicious queijadas”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2013

We bought these little cakes at Sapa's during a visit to Sintra in July. They are a local specialty. Thin pastry base with a cheesy cinnamony filling. Wonderful with a bica (small coffee). If you purchase a few they come in a quaint paper wrapper that looks as though it is still the same design from 100 years ago! Recommended.

“Whatever your programme in Sintra don't miss Sapa!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2013

Sapa is THE place if you want to taste one (better yet a few) queijadas. Queijadas (cheese cakes that don't taste like cheese) are one of the 2 famous pastries from Sintra and one that you just cannot miss! Sapa is right past the City Hall at the beginning of the Volta do Duche, the long bend of the road tuck against the park on the way to the old centre next to the palace with the odd chimneys. At Sapa you have a choice of ordering at the counter, one unit or the typical paper rolled half dozen, or go past the door at the end of the tiny shop into the nice lounge with views of the palace. Whatever your programme in Sintra don't miss Sapa!

“delicious queijadas pastries in Sintra”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2013

This a very old pastry shop-factory, where you can taste the traditional "queijada - cheese pastry".
Located just next to the city hall, is much more quiet than the others in the central old village.
Ideal for a quick stop after lunch or in the morning.
Eight Centuries ago, back in 1227, the portuguese history makes reference to this delicious traditional portuguese patries.

“Delicious”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2012 via mobile

Best pastry in the area. You can not go to Sintra and not try the "Queijadas". And in the meantime, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and the view. Really nice place.
