Stayed in late July 2011. The hotel is in a great location. Just across the street from the palace and a block walk to the main part of town. Sintra is a wonderful town. Especially early morning and evening when the crowds are gone. The hotel itself is so so. 3 star. Rooms were relatively clean, but old. TV was broken and would not work. Decor is old too, although that did add something to the ambiance. We had two rooms. One was a little bigger and seemed almost like a mini suite. We stayed two nights. We had nice views out over the hills. Staff was helpful. Breakfast was fine and the overall price was reasonable for what we got. I would recommend staying there over the fancy luxury hotel which is out of town, but keep in mind its a 3 star only.
