“like a home, not a hostel”
Reviewed December 15, 2012

a great big rambling house with a beautiful garden and a hippie vibe. Stayed in the massive dorm room and despite it being full, the place was really quiet and chilled. in the mornings there was free yoga. Breakfast is included and is plentiful. You can sit and eat it out in the garden or the massive common room. The bathroom is not fantastic - obviously a bit of a DIY job, but was clean and spacious. There are lockers in the rooms; each bed has a power outlet and lamp. The bunks are a bit wobbly, but are clean and comfortable enough. The location is a little way behind the main square, but not far. The kitchen is really beautiful, really nice and homely and you are able to cook in there. They will also store your bags and the girls who work there are really nice. Highly recommended.

Stayed here in a double ensuite room , was really impressed considering the cost . The hostel is spacious , bright , well run and has a beautiful garden. After a day walking the hills of sintra the garden is perfect to relax in with plenty of seating and wine/beers available to buy. The location is within walking distance of all sights and is quite in the evenings.

To make it short: There is nothing negative.

The house is really nice and clean with an lovely arrangement. The stuff will always help you, no matter what you want. And the garden ist teh highlight. With a lot of places to hang arround it is just great to spend your time here. A place for BBQ and also a fire place which makes the nights long :)!

The views, matched only by the Secret Garden style yard, made we weep, in the happy way. Staff were the highlight here; always on hand to help and willing to lend an ear. Buy the green wine from the fridge for 10 euros and sit in the garden drinking in the rays. Rooms were clean and water pressure strong.

Wasn't sure what to expect and we were very pleasantly surprised. Lovely friendly, welcoming people who were very happy to help and able to impart some local knowledge. Double room was lovely, bathrooms not en suite but you are staying in a hostel! Breakfast in the garden was a lovely treat. Would definitely visit again.

We only spent one night here but would totally recommend it. Fab decor, really comfy bed. Best feature for me was the garden during the day and at night. Hosts were friendly and the place is really quirky. It is down a very steep hill, as are most things in Portugal but only 2mins from the palace. Great traditional resteraunt reccommend. Would stay long if we had had time:-).

I came to this hostel to stay for just a single night, but ended up staying four. What a great place! The staff were all very friendly and really did their very best to make you feel at home, also the two woofers (Julia and Eric) were really fun to hang out with. The room and bathroom were very clean. In sum, probably the best hostel I have stayed so far in Portugal.

Room Tip: Only stayed in a six bed dorm. The room was fine and had a nice view over the Sintra Region. Also th...
