What a great experience! Romantic atmosphere coupled with savory food. There was one person taking care of all the people, but we never felt neglected of service. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We had excellent dinner in good atmosphere. At the end of the evening Madame surprised us with a fado performance! Highly recommended.

My fiance & I are the definition of foodie New Yorkers who eat at the finest 5 star restaurants in the world and the best diners, drive-ins and dives alongside them, and A Raposa was among our most memorable, romantic dining experiences over a 2+ week trip in Portugal. Hands-down well worth the 10mn walk from Sintra center which is filled with standard Portuguese fair at touristy places.

The food was absolutely delicious and portions large, every last piece of the meal is home made, and Sergio the friendly owner threw in an aperitif and port to end the meal for free. We had a foie gras appetizer for 12 EUR (~$15 USD) that was such a large portion it looked like 2 full livers, and in NY it would've gone for $80-100 without question - we will remember that forever.

Don't think twice, just make a reservation and thank me later.

This is by far one of the best meals I have had in a long time. We found it on trip advisor and decided to try it. Warm greeting by the owner/chef and lovely surroundings. Only small amount of tables as the food is cooked as if your the only person there. The chef puts his heart and soul into the food so every mouthful was an explosion of taste. The background music was cool with a real mix. We had 2 courses with wine, coffee and a special tea menu, which the Portuguese Festa tea was great. Cost €72 for 2 and you must not leave Sintra without trying this restaurant. They asked us if we would like to hear some Fado, so the waitress sang to everyone. Fab way to end an evening.

It's rare I'm surprised by a restaurant but this was a fantastic find. The owner/chef is a spectacular aficionado of flavour. The food is Portuguese with a twist. Beautifully presented and the subtleties of flavours and combinations make this one of the best restaurants in Portugal at an affordable price. The restaurant has about ten tables well spaced. The building is old and interesting, the styling is contemporary and shabby chic. Great for a romantic dinner or with friends. The wine selection was excellent and surprisingly cheap at about €14 a bottle. The whole meal including starters, main, wine and coffees was €70 for two. This restaurant is cheaper than the centre of Sintra where the food is "Touristic" at best.
The restaurant is down the hill on the road parallel to the Sintra Camera (the municipal town hall) about half a mile from the centre. Taxi from the palacio Setais was only €6 inc tip. Do not leave Sintra withot trying this restaurant. The rest of the restaurants serve food available anywhere in Portugal. This is unique, wholesome and gourmet without the pretence. I will be back. They also have a fantastic tea selection, try the Festa blend.
