Xentra is just outside the main square near the palace in Sintra, near the tourism office. They have a menu à la carte, but they also have a 7.5€ buffet menu, which we tried out. The buffet included soup, some options of salads/entrées, bread, butter and six different dishes - Portuguese cuisine, naturally. The price also includes dessert, which consisted of canned fruit (peach and pineapple). The food was good - not amazing.
Although it can't be considered a refined meal it will let you fill your belly without having to wait for the usual things: menu brought to the table, choosing, waiting for your food, waiting for dessert, etc. Everything was clean and in order.
The restaurant itself is in what probably used to be a cellar, which means you need to go down a flight of stairs - not easy to access for everyone. They also have a bar right next to the restaurant.

It's a nice bar to hang out with friends, it is quiet during the evening and has some TVs. Besides talking and drinking there isn't anything else to do.

We got the restaurant recommended by a clerk at a store where we bought some souvenirs. We decided to look for it. Althoug it wasn't too complicated to get there, when we arrived we saw it opened, still with the menu signs outside and the sign that advertised it would close until 10p.m. that day (it was a Saturday, around 7p.m.). We went inside and it was quite empty. A guy came to meet us and after carefully looking at us, said the restaurant was closed (?!) and they could´t serve us. Fortunately we found another GREAT place right next to the main square and with awesome food. P.S. I´m an insurance broker/Director and my husband is a PhD/scientist, we definitely look like decent people!

The Zentra Restaurant sits on a corner in Sintra. A signboard posts some specials to entice you in. We decided to ry it and went downstairs to its location. It was wonderful. The specials, such as grilled sardines on toasted bread, and the daily specials were delicious. Very nice decor, bar area, clean modern bathrooms, attentive service, tasty food, and very reasonable prices.
