The positive reviews share my experience. Large room, #22 Flowers, with a very large bathroom, and tall ceilings. If you are walking, it is not the easiest to find, but as Sintra is small, most people know where it is. Just be prepared for "Over there." and noticing that there are 2-19 possible over there's to choose from. Remind yourself that you are on vacation and cultural difference are part of your stories for later.

The location is a bit hidden, but it took us 10 minutes to walk to the center of town and take a bus to Pena Palace. It is not far just part of the landscape which is part of its charm. The Regaleria (spelling?) is probably 20-25 minutes away and well worth the walk. It has grounds designed by a set-designer. It is a Disneyland for grown-ups. Beautiful and fun grounds to explore. And, at 55 Euros a night for two that includes breakfast, que mas queres?

The B&B really does have beautiful tropical birds out back, and what makes this place different from other B&B's we have stayed in is truly the space and "feel." There is just enough room to avoid other travelers, and enough space to sit separately, wake up, and then call over and wish all a good morning. We met an interesting Russian professor and his wife on holiday. We exhausted his English and my Dosvedanya in 2 minutes and 18 seconds. We had plenty of room to continue our own familial conversations without that awkward moment of excusing oneself from a nicety. The family is friendly, welcoming, and they keep a respectful distance. It is their house, so I imagine they are quite comfortable meeting new people then going on their way. I suppose when traveling, I need alone time to gather my wits and adjust to all the newness around me.

Overall, we too wish we had stayed more than 1 night. We had our privacy, felt welcome, enjoyed the openness and natural light in their common rooms, and had an excellent night's sleep. The other reviews mention the plentiful amount of food and great bathrooms. It is the kind of place where you may feel inspired to get into the jacuzzi, or to sit out on their grounds, or to sit in and watch the birds. It is restful.

What is not restful is finding the B&B or walking from the B&B into town. If your knees are the not best, or you are pushing a chair, then this is not the B&B for a vacation. The roads are windy and uphills and downhills.

The roads are a reminder that Sintra truly is a UNESCO Heritage site. The locals have a wonderful sense of centimeters as they never once touched my bag with their side-view mirrors as they zipped by to somewhere beautiful. Perhaps that is why we found refuge at this B&B. It is not. You will see. This B&B with it's fine house, apartments, and peaceful grounds is a good place to experience. And they have local maps and give great directions.

Room Tip: Apartments have kitchenettes. Rooms do not but the breakfast was plentiful so we did not feel a need...

A very cosy, familiar and pleasant manor house. The room is not modern, however the big plasma TV, the heating and the décor make for an exceptionally cosy atmosphere. The breakfast room has a glass-wall with a view to the backyard, through which different animals (namely birds) can be seen; these animals are also clearly comfortable with visitors, transforming breakfast into a remarkable experience.

Handful of rooms in an mansion just off the center of Sintra. Rooms are comfortably equipped with unique furnitures that gives each room a different character. The lounge is large and comfortable. The windows face large group of colorful parrots that will welcome you every day. It also where breakfast is served. Outside there is a huge yard with a swimming pool, jacuzzi and more. The staff is simply outstanding and at least for us went above and beyond to help. Hope to get the chance to be back.

the staff uses slang language in the first phone contact.

just because there was a mistake with dates, they were paid for a service they refused to deliver and insisted in being unflexible to give the money back or replace the dare or the service .

The manor house oozes character, very much in keeping with Sintra's atmosphere a hilly town full of old mansions, greenery and palace on hilltops. The house is so beautiful perched on a hill. It has a gated driveway that leads you in and has a goldfish pond in the middle. A concrete staircase with vines growing lead you the bottom of the hill and you will find a modern swimming pool with a small waterfall effect and a spa. The best time to soak in the spa is after a long day of sightseeing and watch the sun disappear behind the hills of Sintra in the backyard and hear the ducks 'quack', in the natural pond right beside it. It was just a scene of calmness, natural beauty and serenity. I had to pinch myself a few times to see if I was dreaning. This probably was the best place Ive stayed at while we were on our 3 weeks trip in Spain and Portugal.
The backyard is well maintained with vines climbing up the walls of the house, very quirky.
The breakfast was splendid and had amazing choices of bread, cheese, pastries, fruits, cereals, sausages, ham, salami, tea/coffee, fruit juice...everything really... its fit for a king.
The dining room is right beside an aviary with parrots, macaw, I even saw a peacock with the natural foliage in the background. It was a nice touch and again very natural looking, which is what Sintra is about

The hosts are very friendly but non intrusive, they just let their guest enjoy the house.

I will definitely stay here again, in fact if I had a choice, I would want to live here! Certainly one of a kind! Highly recommended!

My husband and I and another couple booked an apartment room with a kitchenette for just 1 night and we wished we had planned on staying longer. The apartment was comfortable and modern with special touches like the living room the opened up to the fish pond. It was too cool to enjoy the pool, but the hot tub was a nice treat after hiking to the castle.

The grounds of the hotel were beautiful and all the colorful birds were fun to check out. Breakfast in the morning was amazing as well. The staff was very understanding and accommodating with our late check-out request. Overall, we thought everything about the hotel was to our liking. We didn't notice anything negative about the hotel, although we are used to staying in hostels and budget accommodations so it is possible we overlooking a few minor things.

Didnt know what to expect here as very reasonably priced. This place is beautiful!! Quirky and just amazing....I will definately go back here. We stayed in room 9 which was glass fronted with natural foilage grown over the roof in keeping with the scenery and surroundings of the property. It had its on peir to a small pond with goldfish, ducks & toady toads!
We had access anytime to the jaccuzzi and swimming pool. The place must take some looking after and the staff were incredible. Friendly and over accommodating in every way. This Quinta is essential for those of you who have an imagination and some class....its romantic and just special.
They have birds in the garden outside the breakfast room who are just as quirky and colourful...you are able to interact and encouraged with their warm friendly approach from the staff/owner.
Breakfast was lovely very healthy and always fresh
Location is wonderful right near the station, but beware if you dont like hills as Sintra is a mass of hills. We loved it and will return, just want to say thank you for having such a wonderful place!!
Oh and we cooked whilst we were there as they have S/C kitchenettes in the rooms it was just one of the best experiences I have ever had!

Room Tip: I would request room 9 or 10
