Afternoon out with the children, great to walk around the castle walls and very pretty. Health and safety out of the window... no safety rails and some place very high!

Also lovely on an evening when it's all lit up! Highly recommend when visiting obidos! :)

Keeping in mind that this is a tourist spot, the castle and walls are worth a visit. In most countries it would not pass OH&S (occupational health and safety standards) as there are no guard rails and steps are uneven. However the view from the top is worth the climb.

The castle is the icing on the cake for this beautiful village. The walk from the car park, through the narrow streets leading up to the castle is an artists delight!

The castle is in ruins but you can still walk along all the old walls. It offers a beautiful view of the town and the surrounding country side. We spent about half an hour walking along the walls. They also have other activities like an escape room I. One of the towers and they were setting up for a medieval festival while we were there.

We came on a small group tour. Maybe we arrived at the right time, it wasn't as crowded as people said it would be. We were able to do most of the wall walk without bumping into too many others and the view from the wall walk is spectacular, both looking inward to the city or outward to the fields.

Definitely worth the drive from Lisbon.
