I genuinely felt like I was on the set for GoT in Obidos. It is an ancient town with a massive wall all the way round it, which you can walk around!

We did the walk and then had some food, it was great to do for a few hours.

I would definitely go back should we go back to Sao Martinho.

This was a really lovely day walking around the beautiful medieval town of Obidos. If you are in Portugal you cant miss it. Only 80 km away from Lisbon it is worth a day anad maybe a night to feel the atmosphere of old times.

There are better medieval villages all over Europe, but this is nice. One thing that is a must do is to have Ginjinha from a chocolate cup - scrummy!! I bought a bottle to bring home, and I've now got moulds and cooking chocolate ready to go :-)

A favourite place. The medieval town within the walls of the imposing castle is a delight to visit. In the summer months the Main Street is full of tourists but nevertheless the little town is popular all year round. It is particularly atmospheric during July and the medieval fair. The main events are within the castle walls and you have to pay for entry but the excitement and fun spills out onto the streets. There are many restaurants and on the whole offer good choice and variety. You can't visit without trying the liquor Ginga often served in a chocolate cup.
