So worth the time!
We drove here and the food was great!
The village is beautiful and everyone was soooooooooooooo nice.
Would recommend if you are in the area!
Amazing view, friendly people, + wonderful Portugal tiles to purchase! I love the older tiles :)

mid day an be busy with bus loads of ady tripers but afternoons and evenings are lovely and quiet. the town has beautiful gardens everywhere and the walk around the old walls is a good way to start your day as you can see the whole village.

Our visit to the medieval walled city of Obidos raised mixed feelings. At times, it felt like we were in a time capsule - the narrow cobbled streets and quaint buildings, stray cats scurrying around corners and wisteria draped over ancient walls. (I kept imagining a ragged fellow with a cart chanting, "Bring out your dead!") A walk on the treacherous walls themselves was thrilling, with stunning views. An early evening walk in the quiet side streets was enchanting. We arrived at the ancient Santa Maria Church just after a wedding let out, watched the well-dressed revelers for a while and then went inside to marvel at the stunning azulejos (tiles). But the main street, with its tacky souvenir shops and hawkers selling ginja in chocolate cups, overflowing with tourists at midday, was too much for us. It felt like just so much tasteless, crass commercialism, the kind of thing we were trying to escape back home. The restaurant we stopped in for lunch was a disappointment - especially the condescending waiter - and we rushed back to our inn just outside the gate to wait until the busloads of daytrippers went home. Our dinner experience was much better than lunch, as were the quiet streets of Obidos at night, and we left the next day feeling ready to move on.

A small colourfull village, it reminded me of my own country (Greece), full of flowers, picturesque houses, streets full of life and good people. I'll always remember the Pousada, a must see garden!
