“Obidos 2013”
Reviewed February 7, 2013

We were there last weekend (3rd of februari) and it was a lovely sunny day for a walk through this little village. There were hardly any tourists and mostly local Portugese people. Loved it.

“Don't miss it!”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

It's really like stepping back in time once you're inside the old city walls of Obidos. The town itself is very small and easy to walk around in, and it's very charming with it's small cobblestone streets and little houses . You get a great view when you walk up along the wall, just make sure to bring water with you up there if you go in the summer months, because there's not really any sea breeze there so can get quite warm. There's quite a lot of small shops that sells the local cherry liquor (ginginha) and different art and also quite a lot of souvenirs, but there's not a lot of restaurants and food places to choose from here, and the ones that are there are quite over priced.. So pack some lunch and have it up on the wall while enjoying the stunning views (unless you're scared of heights).

“Medieval experience”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

The village is wonderful, but a bit too crowded. Lots of tourists during the day, but quiet at night. Very well preserved. It was great to walk in the old streets. The Santa Claus Village during December is a very good attraction to families with children.

“Return to the middle age”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

It s one of the best preserved medieval cities of Portugal. Narrow and typical streets, inside a castle. Nice stores with typical products (typical drink - "ginginha" cherry liqueur; chocolate; handcrafted )

“Worth a visit”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

Obidos is a town that is truly worth a visit. The beautiful houses, gorgeous gardens and gracious inhabitants make this an unique experience. Various shops include Art, local tiles, liquor and goods made from cork. A place where you can find Portuguese mementos actually made in Portugal!
