My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in June 2012.
It is a clean & modern hotel in a great location just outside the main entrance to the old town.
There is free parking in front of the hotel; however, once you have a spot, do not move your car, the vacant spaces disappear in a hurry.
AC in the room.
Free WiFi in the lobby and a free internet terminal.
There is a noisy road immediately behind the hotel; it does quieten down at night but during the day, it is really noisy. Cobblestones and high speed combine to make a lot of noise.
Our room had a tiny balcony, too small to sit on but great for drying our laundry. There is no view from the balcony, only the wall of the town.
There was a fridge in our room. It was really a mini bar; we never use the stuff inside, we just use the fridge to keep our own stuff cool.
When we arrived about noon, there was a young girl working at the reception desk. We did not have reservations but that was not a problem, it was off season & there were lots of vacancies. She showed us the room we eventually rented. It was clean and already made up, all ready for customers. However, we could not check in until 14:00. That made no sense to me. The room sat empty for 2 hours while we wandered through the town. At 14:00 we went back to the hotel and checked in. The room looked exactly as it did 2 hours earlier when it was shown to us.
The room was very clean and very modern.
There was no soap dish in the shower which made it a little inconvenient.
There is absolutely no place to hang the towels in the bathroom; we had to hang them in the closet after we used them. Otherwise, it was a beautiful bathroom.
Breakfast was very good.
All in all a very nice hotel, however, we paid 80 Euros per night which was one of the most expensive places we stayed in our month in Portugal. It wasn't worth that much but we found Obidos to be an expensive touristy town.

Room Tip: try to avoid the rooms that overlook the wall it's noisy

The albergaria is very central, near the castle, you can walk around and everything is close. Restaurants, shops and the beautiful vilage. The room was is the 1st floor, very clean. More then we can expect for a 3 star hotel. The breakfast is simple but enough. Bread, cakes, cereals, cheease, milk, etc. We stayed in a triple room with our two daughters and it was perfect. The reception fiel was really gentle. Overall very good Value for money.

Spent there one night during our stay in Óbidos. The hotel location is great. It's outside the city walls but it's rather plus than minus: you can park near hotel. We used hotel parking without any additional charge (they have only few lots, but in general, parking isn't big issue there). We paid 60 € for that night including a breakfast which is reasonable. Breakfast was average, you won't get big selection if you are vegetarian, but this is a common problem in Portugal. Free Wi-Fi worked well, they also had 1 PC for hotel guests. Room was clean and nicely decorated (see my picture)
Few cons: Noise - our room was facing to the street under the city walls, paved with cobblestones. Also we could hear every word said by our neighbors while walking through passage. We felt unpleasant odor in the toiled.
Overall our experience was good and we would consider staying there again if we decided to visit Óbidos again.

Room Tip: Rooms facing to the inner yard are more silent and have a better view

Good hotel right near the City gate to Obidos and easy access to the expressway for excursions in the area. Parking is free but very limited next to the hotel entrance. Our room on main floor was spacious and comfortable. We did not smell any of the smells mentioned in previous reviews--perhaps fixed by now. Staff was courteous and helpful. Good restaurants were located nearby. Breakfast room and breakfast was good.

There is a smell that comes from the rooms. It is the city sewer system that runs beneath the hotel. We first checked into room #9. The entire room smelled. Immediately I went to the reception and mentioned the smell and that we reserved 1 big bed and that there were 2 singles in the room. The person at the reception desk was very nice and mentioned very matter of factly that the city sewer runs underneath the hotel and that there is nothing they can do - the city won't fix the problem because they fear that the sewers will explode if they tamper with it. We were then switched to room #111 (at the opposite end of the hotel). This had 1 big bed and only smelled in the bathroom - so we kept that door closed. Since we were there in October we had to keep the windows closed at night which made the problem worse. My husband also had the same explanation given to him by a different receptionist when he checked out and mentioned the smell. Too bad because otherwise it is a great hotel for the price, but I have to say I will never say there again because of the smell.
