“Yummy Little Tastes of Heaven.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

If you want Belem Tarts, then yes, you can really go to any place in all of Portugal. But it's so much better to have them in the place where they were invented. It's as they say, the originals are the best, so stock up, they cardboard containers mean you can take many home. Service is very good too and it's not even pricey like you might think.

“Well worth the tiny wait!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

Queues are always a good sign:) It moved super fast and to say that this tart was amazing is an understatement. I suggest grabbing a couple and walking across the road to the little park to enjoy it. The cafe is busy and crowded.

“the best Portuguese tarts!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

I have tried a few places in Lisbon, and Casa Pastesis De Belem is the best! The custard is rich and milky, and much more intense in flavour than other tarts. The take away queue is long, so go to the back of the cafe as there are more seats there.

“Don't queue!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

Great "Pastel de Belém"!!

If you see a lot of people queuing, don't stop there, just enter the restaurant. There are plenty of rooms inside the restaurant when you follow the corridor at the end of the entrance. The waiter will come to your table and you will enjoy your pastel de nata with the drink you prefer, comfortably seated and with no hurries or queues.

The price is above portuguese standards.

“Best portuguese tarts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

Try stopping at one! Worth catching the no. 15 tram down to Belem just to experience the taste. Can get very crowded but worth the wait.
