Lovely laid back restaurant and lovely food too, and free wifi. Friendly relaxed staff who all spoke excellent English - such a contrast to the pushy tourist restaurants who accost you on the street. Obviously popular as it's on 3 floors!

I saw this quantl terrace tucked away on a cul de sac in Alfama amid other fado bars/restaurants. Great starters including complimentary fried potato chips with mayonnaise (how very Dutch). My girlfriend ordered a vegetarian dish and I went for the bacalhau, a traditional Portuguese cod dish. The wine we ordered was a pleasant simple vino verde (white, mild sparkle). All topped off with very friendly, good service without being overbearing. Clients were dominantly Portuguese and quite busy in the off season which for me is a sign of good local quality. Upstairs they also have a smoking-dining area. The next time we'll be back for desserts.

On a Sunday evening after a stormy wet day we arrived at this restaurant to find a cosy warm room, lovely staff and a delightful meal. As other people mentioned the portions are generous. I had the roasted salt cod which was yummy ...and the house red is a very good drop!
I recommend it and i'd go there again.

In the heart of the typical neigbourhood of Alfama, true Lisbon traditional restaurante. Gave us a private room for our group of 14 hoolingans. We were impecably winned and dinned until the wee hours of the night. The food was excellent.!

Arrived late in Lisbon and had this restaurant on our list from good online reviews. They were full when we arrived but we got lucky and had a table within 15 minutes. The food was delicious; we ordered some tapas style starters and one main course to share between two of us. Although it was yummy, three tapas (Mushrooms & gorgonzola, goats cheese “chevre” salad, padron peppers) and a main (spaghetti & prawns) was far too much food for two people. The starter/tapas portions are very generous – great if you don’t want to spend too much! The service was excellent and we had some we had some delicious caipirinhas! Would definitely recommend this to anyone, best to make a reservation. The ambience is lovely and there is an outdoor terrace which would be fantastic in the summer. We went back several times as the food was so good and the staff lovely.
