It is very close to the metro station and to the Rossio square. There was no elevator, only narrow, steep stairs and the reception was on the second level. The room was a bit too limited, there was only a small corridor between the beds and the wall on the way to the window and the terrace. The room was pointed to the street and it was a bit noisy and there was a food smell from the restaurants below. The bathroom was old with a stupid english style sink, with separated hot and cold water, which makes the hot water completely unusable. Even if there were a water stopper for the sink, which is the only one way to use that type of sinks, I would never put water inside and use it on my face, nor on other places over my body. The whole bathroom did not looked clean enough. There was not possibility to put the shower on the wall and the shower itself was old, dirty and did not work well at all. The bathroom was smelling of urine even before to use the toilet and even when the toilet cover was closed. The sheets on the bed and the bed itself seemed to be ok. There was no problems with the sleeping.
I would not recommend to stay there more than one night!

The room we had (#201) was very-very noisy. The restaurants under the room's window works till midnight. They have a live music that play till restaurants are closed. Then restaurants staff starts cleaning during which they are speaking too laud. This continuing till about 1am. Then refuse collectors start their work (there are many bottles that are falling with a big noise). And at 7am restaurants start their work again.

Room Tip: Do not take a room near a reception and with a vie on the street with restaurants.

Located in one of the tipical narrow streets of the baixa, in the most lively and central area of Lisbon a few metres from the airportshuttle stop. The entrance might mislead you since it's very small and there's the tipical electronic indian shop on the right side but when you up everything changes. We booked a double room with shared bathroom but for some reason they couldnt find our reservation done via Venere.com so they offered us a room with bathroom ensuite and view on the street!!! Internet it's for free but very slow. Room was clean and spatious. They dont offer lots of services but the ratio price/quality/location is excepitional. The area is overcrowded by small very good a nd cheap restaurant. would go there again.

Location great - Close to airbus stop at Restauradores, walking distance to central Lisbon attractions, street full of cafes etc outside the door. Little English from friendly staff at reception though they try hard, and need to ring at reception to be let into rooms 24 hrs. Clean but basic, some rooms / bathrooms v spacious. A fair bit of noise rises from the street.

The Flor de Baixa is centrally located in Lisbon. We arrived. Ga 4:30 pm and checked in a took a wonderful hile to St. Georges castle...1/2 hr.... to catch the sunset and panorama of pictoresque Lisbon. On our way down we ate locally at a stand up bar and wandered back drinking Ginga all the way! What a great way to start our trip. Everyone at the hotel and surroundings were helpful.
The street of the hotel was easy to find but the hotel itself was hidden between two small stores. It's a hidden staircase...but just ask... super friendly folk. Have a great trip!

the pensao is very well located, in the middle of the center of lisbon, although it is in one of the most hectic restaurant-streets in the center, the noise stops around midnight. we had difficulties finding the entrance, because it is located in the second floor. we had some problems with our reservation, due to the fact that there's no computer in the reception, the staff write everything in notes.. my booking number was no good..
the roomes are very small, and there's a shared bathroom, but there was no problem.
the breakfast was a highlight. the pensao shares brekafast with a hotel cituated down the same street, and the food is better than in a normal pensao. we had to ask for cleen towels, and the woman working in the penaso doesn't speak english.
even so, the room was so cheap that none of these things matter.

I stayed at Flor da Baixa for 5 nights and in spite its fine location (city centre and near metro) I must admit it was one of the most terrible places I ever stayed in. I do stay in pensiones and hostels when I'm in Europe and I never expected a kind of "first class apartement", but it was smth really awful. Very noisy at night (very busy street with lots of restaurants) - street musicians and singing crowd won't let you sleep, 7-30a.m. restaurant staff will wake you up by moving tables with rattle, unbearable unpleasant smell of fish or smth similar; dirty room and bathroom(!), insanitariness, no hot water in sink, discharge in a bath cabin was so bad that water was getting your knee level while taking shower, pension staff doesn't care at all if any problem occures and you complain of any trouble...if you are able to explain them smth in Portugese...
So, it's up for you to decide, but I don't recommend it!!
