When staying in Lisbon - try this very good fish restaurant Gambrinus! A bit pricey but well worth the money! Food, wine & service was a very nice experience, excellent products and excellent cooking! Even my husband who is not particularly excited about sea food agrees that this was a very good restaurant!

Amazing food in beautiful surroundings served by people that really want you to enjoy your time in their restaurant. My wife and I visited on two successive evenings earlier this week (we were so impressed the first evening we had to return the next).
Local oysters, crayfish with mayonnaise and cooked spider crab followed by local cheeses and fruit on the first evening all washed down with some good Champagne, white port, a superb red Douro wine and some old Madeira.
On the second occasion we had the most amazing clams cooked in oil with white wine, a little garlic & parsley and fish Cataplana followed by more local cheeses and fruit. We had the same wines as the first evening.
This really is a top restaurant which provided us with our best eating experiences in Lisbon (the rest of our meals were very good too).

I love fine "cuisine" whichever way it is prepared : traditional, rural, fusion, old school, molecular, be my guest as long as it tasty. Gambrinus style and cuisine are caught in a gastronomic permafrost but that would not be a problem in itself as long as products are fresh and well prepared. My first plate was a mere shrimps in oven, served like any ordinary dish in Spanish tapas bar, the difference being the price, above 20€ for the most overcooked and tasteless shrimps I ever ate. I was thus looking forward for the "plat de resistance" : grouper on skewer : even worse: fish was fresh but nearly dry, once again overcooked. Wine was regular (had 2 glasses, no bottle, had a old Porto and no dessert. Bill was above 80€!! Never again

Its cusine is excellent. There you can find the proeminent active power of Portuguese society.

The best service, the best menu, the best deserts.

On this place you can eat a perfect crepe suzette, a perfect vanilla souflle, some fried meatballs (croquetes).

We got so many recommendation about this restaurant that we had to try it by ourselves. What a disappointment! Some of the dishes were bed and the other were avarage. The price is night. The best thing in this restaurant is the serve. Really not recomended
