Tried this restaurant from a recommendation in an Olimar Leaflet (portuguese travel agency). The food is ok, but too expensive given the price level that exists in Lisbon. Main Courses are 16,50-20,00 ?. Both our meals consisted of not too fancy ingredients: beef, black beans, rice, corn
The restaurant itself also is not new and does not provide a specific atmosphere. The waiter was very talkative in stressing that he himself could not choose from all the meals because they are all so "fantastic and are the reason why this restaurant exists since 31 years". Been eating way better for the money in Portugal.

Comida de Santo is a well deserved landmark in Lisbon restaurants map. It was one of the first offering real and good quality Brazilian food in Lisbon, even before Portugal received a vague of Brazilian immigrants in the late 90's. You can find there typical Brazilian dishes, extremely well prepared with very high quality produce. In our last experience the flavours were according to expectations and very good. It is the only place in Portugal I ask for picanha without being afraid of being served a rubbery piece of meat and their quindim (coconut and egg desert) is always extremely fresh and tasty. However, over the years I have sensed some changes which have made me hesitate to recommend the restaurant. First, although tasty, the meats included in the feijoada are not as good as they used to be. Service has become quite clumsy and not at all consistent with the rising prices. I cannot forgive they repeatedly forgot to bring the drinks we asked for. Further, we were asked (in the middle of the meal!!!!) to stand so that they could rearrange the tables to accommodate an unexpected larger group. This is acceptable in a canteen, not in a place where the average price of a main course is 18 Euros. Then the caipirinha is utterly expensive, but the quality has been decreasing as well (they used to have a waiter that prepared great caipirinhas, but he seems not to be there any more). Finally, the lighting has changed. From a cosy yellowish glow, they now have dreadful cheap high efficiency lamps with a white light (just a detail which will mainly matter to people how knew the restaurant 5 years ago, but it makes a difference). Overall, the meal is still very good and remains one of the best Brazilian restaurants I know in Portugal, but I miss the Comida de Santo as it was 5 years ago....
