We picked this restaurant as is it was in the DK Lisbon guide book and we wanted an Italian in or near Bairro Alto. The taxi couldn't drop us at the front door but we were able to spot the sign soon enough after a short walk. Extremely friendly waiter, lovely decor and ambience. We were given breads, dips and olives straightaway. Nice touch but later realised we were billed for them but maybe that is normal here. Ordered clans and minestrone soup (more like vegetable but I think this the traditional way). Both beautiful. Next I had the penne arribata-really tasty and spicy. The dessert was absolutely delicious. It was a frozen ice cream pie with melted chocolate!! Would recommend. Washed down with a nice bottle of white recommended by the waiter. Bread/Olives, 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 dessert, 2 irish coffees and a bottle of wine was 70 euro. We were the last to leave and would definitely return. Some good traditional bars around the corner as this is the spot for night life. Found a cosy bar (can't remember the name) but the staff were drinking on duty and appeared to be on drugs-kept giving us drink and forgetting to charge us!! a great night :)
