“Very good and fresh fish”
Reviewed May 14, 2014

Although quite expensive, we are allowed to choose the fish we want to eat, grilled in front of you and very well served. Seafood is also very good and there's good environment to all type of visits!

“excellent fish, too expensive, very little atmosphere”
Reviewed March 19, 2014

We went to this place for our farewell dinner following the recommendation of a frequent traveller to Lisbon. The variety of fresh fish and seafood to choose from is impressive. Like at a 'Mercado' everything is displayed on a bed of ice and we were invited to pick what we liked to order right from there upon arrival at the restaurant. The fish and tiger shrimps we had chosen were prepared in a simple manner but perfectly on the open charcoal grill at the center of the restaurant. Delicious! However, the bill was about double of what we had paid for any of our prior dinners on this trip, which were all dominantly fish/seafood dinners in good restaurants. Prices at 'Mercado do Peixe' are by weight and exaggerated. The restaurant is big and has very little atmosphere, so on a slow night you feel quite lost in there. Probably best to go there on a weekend for lunch or dinner. Service was good. We won't return as we felt there is no added value which justifies the price tag.

“Very good fish in Lisbon”
Reviewed December 11, 2013

One of the best places in Lisbon to eat freash fish and seafood.
A bit expensive though, for Portuguese standards, and the waiting's a bit annoying. But it's worth it.

“Great fish”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

I've been hearing about this place for a long time and my first time didn't disappoint. The place is quite big and luckily I was there on a slow night. As you come in, it catches your attention the counter with all the fresh fishes, shrimps and other stuff for you to choose from. The waiters were all very attentive, explaining each fish and how to best enjoy it. You should try the camarao Tigre (tiger prawn). They may be a bit expensive but they are delicious and one half is probably good enough for a starter. We went for an Imperador and it was amazing. We ended the night with some typical pastels de nata and a Porto. A real fish experience not far from the centre of Lisbon.
