“Nice neighborhood place, good food”
Reviewed September 13, 2013

I liked this restaurant on the first night in Portugal and thought it was very good, nice service, great wine.

That was before I had experienced the WOW of so many other restaurants in Portugal, most for excellent prices.

So good, not great. Dont go out of your way to come here but if you are in the area, good spot to eat, Not for foodies.

Very nice service and good wine options

“good portuguese food”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

Well crowded restaurant, with line of waiting. If you do not want to queue come to the restaurant around 10:30 PM. The seafood with bread can be one unusual food for the seafood lovers: you hate it or love it. The pork alentejana (pork with clams alentejana style) is one of the best I have eaten in Portugal. The soup is marvelous. Sea bream with orange is a good experience: fresh, light, well balanced. Some waiters speak fluently English, some not. The atmosphere is a bit more formal than you expect in a typical local restaurant but it just adds to the charm of the place: situated in middle of Bairro Alto between BARS< BARS <BARS. Sunday is closed.

“Very very good”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

The restaurant has quite small rooms but the food is really good. Maybe the best restaurant where I eat in Lisbon, I spent 2 weeks in town and eat in Bota Alta 3-4 times. The bacalhau is amazing. Definitely worth a visit..despite the waiting list.

“Hearty Portugese food”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

The traditional dish of pork and clams was excellent. The meat was tender. The sea bream with orange sauce was light and not too sweet. I recommend that you order a bottle of wine rather than a carafe of the house wine which was barely drinkable. There is a no smoking room. One of the waiters speaks fluent English and he was assigned to us once it was clear that we didn't speak Portugese.
