An old city market completely renovated. It is a nice place to go and eat something at lunch or dinner. The market still work and you have the tables in the middle. A lot of small booth with all type of foods. Sandwich, Burgers , Sushi , Salads , desserts , drinks, etc, etc. You can buy your own bottle of wine and then choose what you want to have . Seafood also available at very reasonable prices. A nice experience and to return .

The "Mercado de Campo de Ourique" has been repurposed as a huge self-service space, with the most varied foods and drinks. You can eat from the typical portuguese food or go with sushi or brazilian food or even the american buffalo hot wings.
During the city holidays (normally around the 2nd week of June) there is live music performed by a local pop singer.
If you choose this as your dinning place (especially during the weekends), plan ahead and show up early (around 19h) because it is really difficult to find a seat in the main area after 20h.

I loved the colours, the small stands surrounding the restaurants with very friendly, familiar attitudes. I adored the smell and taste of roasted almonds with ginger and honey, along with the lesson from the shop owner about the importance of natural nuts and fruits in our daily nutrition plan. Anyway, the chocolate and pepper covered roasted almonds call for a sin :) So, if you are here, don't skip the stand of Frutos Secos do Mercado! They speak English! ;)

If you're wandering around the area of Campo d'Ourique, make sure to pop into the newly refurbished Mercado. It's chilled but swanky at the same time with lots of delicious food stalls to choose from. Add a glass of Vinha do Monte and you've got a great Portuguese gourmet experience!

Well, if there weren't already reviews, I would not have written one, as there are already enough people there. But this was lots of fun; we had wonderful small lamb chops with salad and frites, an omelet with prawns, a steak sandwich, and a shrimp skewer. Good beer and wine ice cream. All fairly expensive for Portugal but packed with locals and families on a Saturday lunch. You can take Tram 28 right there.
