Everything was perfect - super location, comfortable rooms, kind staff, good price, delicious breakfast with a large variety. We can only add to previous comments, this is a lovely place to stay in Lisbon, we felt welcome and relaxed the entire time.

Our stay at Zuza was nothing less than perfect. Our host was gracious and friendly, and offered all sorts of recommendations on places to eat, places to visit, and how to get around.
The breakfasts were also wonderful, and included fresh fruit, yogurt, bread, bread spreads, cereal, meat and cheese, and eggs. And coffee. Excellent coffee.

The inn is located adjacent to the Barrio Alto, and conveniently close to transportation. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the street are good.

June 2013 we stayed for two days in the ZuzaB&B. We felt right at home. It's situated in the middle of Bairo Alto in the centre of old Lisbon. The service was outstanding, a five star breakfast was included, everything you did not even think of was available in the room. The view from the terrace was stunning. Carlos handed us a phone we could take with us. In case of trouble of if we should have questions we could phone him or Luis every hour of the day. We can can be short : this is the best B&B we have ever been. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: We had a terrace room which was outstanding.

What an amazing find! This little gem of a place surpassed all my expectations. You really feel as if you are " living like a Lisbonite" in the centre of the beautiful old town, of this vibrant city. It is in an IDEAL position for everything . Of course what made it so special was Luis and Joao. They are two wonderful people who really do want you to enjoy your time with them. The use of a local telephone with their numbers programmed in was a fantastic idea. How thoughtful. The breakfast was excellent and it was great to meet the other guests in the morning . I have waited a long time to visit Lisbon and now wish I had gone sooner . Don't hesitate to stay at Zuzabed but leave space for me to come back!

Returning to Lisbon after previous visits in the past years, we opted to rebook a stay at the ZUZA Residence apt. The Residence is located smack in the city center historical section of Chiado. Similarly, the apt is located right on the famous trolley 28 route as well as Praça Luis de Camões square. This is the place to sit and watch Lisbon in action or hear a free concert in the summer. Down the cobbled streets framed with old fashioned lights in ornate lanterns is the fashionable Rua Garrett lined with bustling cafes, chic shops and eateries for every palate. It's a perfect location to explore the sights of the city as noted in a review in 2011. We're pleased to find the apt still in full form and exhibiting the same high quality of comfort, decor, cleanliness and convenience. Living in the Residence provides a firsthand glimpse of living like a local in the city. The personal touches upon arrival, the welcome to Lisbon fridge Zuza style is a great way to start off a trip. It's a healthy start with milk, juice, yogurts, eggs, meat, bread, cheese and cookies. Not to mention a generous supply of fresh fruit of the season... and don't despair markets and shops abound as well as a selection of restaurants in Chiado or right across the Praça is Bairro Alto. Like our previous stay the apt was impeccable and for my elderly mom of 87yrs, offered all the amenities and convenience of home. The Zuza team continues to show exuberance, warmth and the most genuine hospitality that separates itself from the rest of the pack. The Zuza team is truly in another league of its own. We have traveled extensively throughout Europe and can honestly say that
Zuza apts/villas continues to offer exemplary and unobtrusive service, while reassuringly discreet, yet unfailingly courteous, the staff exude a lot of heart and graciousness with a twist of Lisbon charm.

It would be a disservice not to take this space to commend Luis Zuzarte “Mr Zuza” himself for all of his creativity and successful efforts over the years hosting guests from around the world. He is a natural decorator with an eye for beauty and contrast with a playful twist. Not to also mention, an honest, caring host to all of his guests who officially become part of the Zuza family after a stay, however brief.

We highly recommend for guests to enjoy the pulse of the city and stay at a Zuza property, all diverse with something for every traveler. The Portuguese spirit Zuza style will capture yours for a most enjoyable stay in an old world capital full of charm and history.

Room Tip: Highly recommend for the traveller who has difficulty with stairs. Wheelchair available

We stayed for 2 nights in one of the apartments. We found the owner at his guest house and he quickly invited us in for water (which we needed) while he finished the paper work. He asked his trusted assistant to walk us to the apartment. 5 minutes later, we have a beautiful 1 bdrm apartment in a residential district just a few blocks from the Barrio Alto. The corner apartment allowed for opening window and the cool gentle breeze from the river. The owner then helped us make car rental reservations.

I have done a number of city breaks but this is the first time I have visited Lisbon and this must be the best guest house I have ever visited. It was clean, the breakfast was good and the guest house was located really centrally but the best bit was the staff. They really couldn't do enough for you. While we were there we had two wonderful hosts Luis and Joao who really made our stay. Nothing, literally nothing was too much trouble. We were even given a mobile phone with their phone numbers programmed in so if we got lost or wanted to ask a question we could phone. They were really helpful recommending places to see and eat and would phone and make restaurant or taxi reservations. The stay was absolutely delightful. If I come to Lisbon again I will be sure to stay here.

Room Tip: The double rooms overlooking the street had balconys and were lovely but may be a bit noisy at the w...
