I stayed 2 nights in Zuza guest house - if you don't mind a shared bathroom situation then this place is perfect. The room was spacious and clean and towels and a bath robe and slippers are provided. Bathroom was clean and shower gel and hand soap are provided.
The breakfast was fantastic! Fresh pastry one morning, fresh custard tart the next, and bread roll with cheese and ham, as well as extra toast and 2 types of cereal if you want it - with freshly squeezed OJ and coffee - really impressed.
Really good location and great price. Luis is very helpful too.
There are some restaurants in the street outside, so I would recommend taking earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
Quite a few steps up to some of the rooms which would make it difficult to access for some people.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the side of the building that isn't over the street where the bars are.

Zuzabed B&B is the most delightful B&B we have ever experienced. Luis, the host, takes outstanding care of his guests by providing the highest quality of experiences whether giving advice on how to have a perfect day in Lisbon or beyond, decorating ZUZABED to perfection, or daily changing the breakfast table setting to provide a cheery beginning to your day in Lisbon. He recommends outstanding restaurants, and knows the ins and outs of what makes Lisbon a wonderful vacation spot. The location of ZUZABED B&B is in a wonderful part of Lisbon where there is always something to see, and something to do that seems exotic, local, and exciting. Carlos is great, as well! Both hosts provided many delightful surprises from welcome drinks to buying our train tickets for us so that we could spend the day out of town. I would go to Lisbon again just to stay in ZUZABED B&B and experience its ambiance and delightful hosts, Luis and Carlos.

Room Tip: I liked having a patio outside my room on the top floor.

We've just returned from a four day stay at Zuzabed B+B and it's hard to think of what to say about this amazing place that hasn't already been said, except.......
how many hotels/B+Bs would put your trousers in the freezer so that the chewing gum that you had accidentally sat on would come off?!
We enjoyed every minute of our stay, yes the stairs are steep and the rooms small, but if you do your research before you would know this. The stairs are steep because of the unique location of the B+B, and what an amazing location! The rooms are small but beautifully decorated and have everything you could need....the view from the terrace rooms is beautiful and reminds you that you are right in the centre of this lovely city with everything literally on your doorstep.
I wish I could think of something to say about Luis that hasn't been already.....quite definitely one of the nicest, most helpful people I have ever met! You know when you arrive at your accommodation and are asked ...."what sort of things do you like doing? I need to know so I can help you most" that it is going to be a special trip and it was........we were directed to restaurants, wines bars and a Fado evening which suited us perfectly.
Thank you so much Luis (and Carlos) for a great stay.

Room Tip: The terrace rooms have an amazing view

This B&B was gorgeous and they did everything for you, definitely the best place we’ve ever stayed – it’s worth going to Lisbon just to stay there.
Every day Carlos helped us by lending us maps, booked all our reservations for meals which we’d picked off Trip Advisor, gave us binoculars for going up the castle to a vista, English teabags, torches for Sintra’s big well, a mobile phone with his number and the owner’s on, told us which cafes/bars/areas to avoid or go to, on the last day we had to leave at 7 for the plane so he had our usual breakfast (fresh fruit and juice, fresh cheese and warm bread) left in a mini fridge for us. They just thought of everything and were so nice; you can see why they’re the best rated place there. The room was good too with an amazing view.

We stayed 4 nights at the ZuzaBed B&B, and had a wonderful stay in Lisbon. We couldn't have asked for a better location (in Chiado near Barrio Alto) or for a better host, Luis. From the minute we arrived he made us feel welcome....carrying our suitcases up to our rooms, giving us a welcome drink of port and coffee, and helping us feel right at home in Lisbon. As many folks have mentioned, it was wonderful to have a cell phone to connect with Luis (and Carlos) whenever we had a question. Carlos and/or Luis showed up each morning to help us plan our day. They helped us organize our itinerary, plan our transportation, and came up with great places for dinner and lunch. Luis even bought our train tickets for our trip to Porto. For our trip to Sintra, Luis recommended our visiting Quinta da Regaleira (which turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip) and even provided the flashlights so we could better explore the caves and grottoes. I stayed in the Castle Terrace room and loved sitting on the deck in the morning, sipping coffee, watching the sunrise over the city. As mentioned by a few others the stairs are steep up to the rooms and the shower stall is small but the rooms are nicely decorated, all the amenities are provided including an espresso machine and hot pots that you can take to your room. I loved the option of having coffee or tea whenever I wanted. There was strong Wi-Fi in the rooms, and a computer in the main living room/dining area for guests to use. We enjoyed the breakfasts of pastries, meats, cheeses, juice, fruit, yogurt, and eggs upon request. Luis even baked us a wonderful cake one morning. As many have said before, it is Luis (and Carlos) that make this place so special. Their love of Lisbon and Portugal is shared with their guests, and they have the special ability to make everyone feel comfortable, at home, and like you've been friends for years. I highly recommend ZuzaBed if you are planning a trip to Lisbon!

Room Tip: If you don't mind an extra set of stairs, go for the Castle Terrace Room.
