Spent some time taking photos on the square and people watching. At no time did I, as a solo senior female traveler feel any discomfort, fear or threat of being robbed, assaulted or swindled. I read about people complaining of pickpockets and scam artists in the area. I must have been lucky. Three days solo exploring the city and I felt nothing but safe!

Nice place to visit especially at night time, when it's less crowded!
You can see the Eden theatre with trees on the facade!
Also the Rossio train Station is visible from this square!

This is a nice place if you're in the area but I wouldn't make a special trek to see it as it can be full of people especially tourists with selfie sticks!!

Good looking square, clean with good views and easy to get to. Plenty of cafés, restaurants and shops nearby. Felt safe and relaxed!

Like so many historical locations in Lisbon it's ornate and even a little grandiose. The fountain is amazing and a lovely location for photography (yes selfie friendly). Just one point of concern is the pattern in the cobblestones, it's visually pretty but the waviness can make you feel a little queasy.
