We chose this hotel because of 5 stars, positive reviews, LHW membership and superb location. However, there were certain minuses of course - construction works were visible from everywhere incl. the hotel’s roof top bar (the works are in the adjacent building which will become an integral part of the hotel after its reconstruction starting in November); tiny public areas (reception, foyer), small standard rooms. But the personnel managed to compensate all above by exceptional hospitality and kindness. In addition to all the bars, cafes, night venues in the neighborhood we would highly recommend to take a short walk to Mercado da Ribera Time Out. Everyone will find food to one’s taste, so fresh, so diverse, so well cooked. You can have breakfast, lunch or dinner or just sip a drink because it’s always open and full of fun and life.

We could not believe how amazing our Stay was here. From arrival to check out we recorded a 5* service. The staff here are dedicated and professional. The rooms and decoration are cleverly designed. Attention to detail is incredible. The restaurant food was one of the best meals we can recall having. The service in the restaurant was so personal and attentive. The roof top bar was a joy! The lovely cocktail waiter was engaging and we chatted about all the different gins and he went out of his way to show us some bottles along with interesting information. We can’t recommend this lovely hotel enough.

We spent four nights at Bairro Alto. Unbeatable location but the age shows up. They are closing for renovation and expansion in 2018 so it should become a really outstanding hotel soon. Friendly staff. Restaurant/breakfast room is squishy but tolerable. Six floor terrace with a river and a bridge view is outstanding. Check out nightly performances on the plaza. It's really fun!

This hotel was located in a great location in front of the Praça Luís de Camões square; experiencing the vibrant activity of Lisbon. The city encourages outside drinking and socializing and there are wonderful choices for restaurants and wine bars in walking distance and stores. A must try down the street is Amorino ice cream-delicious and beautiful-they shape it in a flower and can choose many flavors. Would suggest room view facing the square as it is fun to watch the people on the square and once the glass doors of the rooms are closed it is completely quiet. However, the hotel will be closed for a 10 month needed complete renovation and expansion (our room was clean, but tired). The location was perfect for walking to many of the sites and waterfront and a 15 minute walk to upscale shopping on da Liberdade. Uber was inexpensive and averaged 2-4 euros locally and 14 euros to the airport. The hotel breakfast was very good, offering many choices. We enjoyed an excellent and delicious perfectly prepared dinner and would recommend when they reopen. Reservations are always suggested wherever dining. Many restaurants are small and book up quickly. The staff was helpful in answering questions and making restaurant reservations. Prefer a boutique hotel like this where you experience the personalization and uniqueness of the city versus a big chain hotel.

A boutique hotel with exceptional service in an exciting area of old town Lisbon. The hotel is located between Bairro Alto and Chiado districts where there are numerous restaurants, shops, bars, scenic views and historic places of interest, all within walking distance of the hotel. The rooftop terrace bar at the hotel offers a wonderful sunset view of the Tagus River and the bridge. We also enjoyed the Portuguese tasting menu at Flores do Bairro Restaurant located in the hotel. While the guest rooms are not large, they are nicely designed, well maintained and offer a number of amenities and updated technology. Ours offered a fabulous view and balcony overlooking the Praça Luís de Camões square.
