“Just a good landscape”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

This is just a good landscape in Lisbon.
There is nothing to see inside the tower! So, do not spend 5 euros to go up there.

“A picturesque attraction in a splendid city”
Reviewed March 10, 2014

I have now visited Lisbon twice, each time being as a port call during a cruise vacation.

There is so much to do and see in this huge city that it is a good idea to take the sight-seeing bus tour, where one can hop on and hop off at the various attractions.

On the bank of the River Tagus, not far from the 25 April suspension bridge can be found the Belem Tower, one of the city's ancient defences from invading forces. It is situated in beautiful surroundings, and affords endless photo opportunities because of its architecture and location. Considering the Tower is many centuries old, it is remarkably well preserved, This attraction is a must-see during any visit to Lisbon.

“Excellent Tower”
Reviewed March 10, 2014

During our third day in Lisbon we visited Torre de Belém ( Belém Tower ), during our walking in the area. We went to the top and take excellent pictures from Jerónimos Monastery, Tagus River and surroundings. I felt that i was back to the past, with sailers, cannons surrounding me on the first floor.

“Good enough from the Outside”
Reviewed March 10, 2014

This is a fabulous place to wander around, but inside it is small with very narrow steps and walkways which makes it a bit frustrating with so many tourists. But if you go on Sundays it is free entry. Otherwise cost is 5Euros to go inside. Frankly it photographs much better from the outside.

“A must see”
Reviewed March 10, 2014

Easy to reach with public transport from the center of Lisbon.
Very nice views and packed with history.
Disadvantage: there is only one small staircase to go up and down in the tower.
When it's busy (and it was when we were there), you have to queue quite a long time to go up and to come back down.
