The river, the docks , the vast spaces, the gardens, the museum make Belem a very special place, one of our favourite .

“Pretty little tower”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

I know that this tower is connected with lots of history and this is one of the symbols of Lisbon, but it does not impress like other historic buildings in capital of Portugal. I didn't go inside - imho it's not worth paying 6 EUR and wait in the queue. It is so small that the view from it can't be outstanding.

“Lisbon Essential”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

Yes as we all know, pastries in belem are sooo good... you can start with that.. We also know that from the center of Lisbon you can take the tram 15 and easily go to Belem..
That if you are a group of four people the taxi is cheaper,we all know that...
We all know that the major museums of Lisbon are located in Belem, the Design museum, The archaeology museum, the marine museum etc.. and a lot of other things to visit ..
We all know that we can take pictures without having someone telling us 'sorry sir, no pictures'
We all know that.. so what's wrong then ? nothing.. Don't miss one of the Lisbon essential.. even if you are short of time...Just enjoy (even if in the summer the queue are longer )

“Great views”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

Views were great but a very annoying South African who shouted at you to rush you up and down the steep stairs which made the visit less enjoyable !!

“Belém”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

Belém is an amazing place. You can visit four different spaces there, the Mosteiro dos Jeronimos, Torre de Belem, Padrão dos Descobrimentos e Centro Cultural de Belem. To get to Belem you can get the tram E15 from the city centre and the ticket its no more than 1.40 as long as you have the travel card (a green one called Lisboa Viva).
You can go up to the top of Padrao dos Descobrimentos and its not more than 5€. You enjoy a beautiful view. You can also visti the Belem Tower and walk all the way to the gardens and to everything else.
