I just like the scenery and the tarts in Belhem. I put my feet in the sea whch was warm. The modern Art museum is wfree and well worth a visit.

Nice tower to visit. Nice view on top of the tower. You have to take tram 15e from the city center to the tower.

The old monastery buildings are breath-taking and beautiful to walk around. Its a nice change from the city of lisbon, near the water etc with lovely gardens, fountains etc. Would reccommend if you have a few days to spend in Lisbon.

We went on Sunday when Belem was free, if I had to pay I might have skipped this site and there was nothing to see.

Go to Belem with the oldtimer streetcar no.15, get out at the Mosteiro dos Jerônimos, visit the new Cultural Centre and cross over the traintrack and big road to arrive at the riverside. There you'll find the famous and beautiful Torre de Belem. See also the Padrão dos Descobrimentos.
