Great place to take pictures, walk, visit museums, eat; you cane easly spend a whole day there, maybe two days. Do to the Torre de Belem in early hours, the light is better, visit the Padrao dos descobrimentos, see the view from the tower, eat pasteis de Belem.

Belem was a nice place to pass our morning after getting off an overnight bus from Sevilla, ES.

The pasteis with Espresso were a good pickmeup and both the Monument to the "Explorers" and the Tower of Belem both had impressive views and well-placed descriptions describing their historical significance.

The Cultural Center of Belem (on the waterfront abutting one side of the park that houses the Anthropological Museum/Palace of Belem) had a great free modern art exhibit which I enjoyed more than the famed Reina Sofia in Madrid on the same trip ... nice!!

it's really a nice place, i spent my afternoon here
standing in the windswept terrace and doing nothing
it would be better if u could stay here until sunset
then u won't forget this beautiful watercolor easily:)

Worth a morning to visit Belem, see the monuments, museums and catch a warm-out-of-the-oven Pastel De Belem.
