“An amazing hotel in everyway except for location”

This a brand new 5* hotel in Lisbon which has opened to compete with the Four Seasons which is literally just over the road.

Having stayed there it was hard to see why they built these hotels in such a quiet area of Lisbon. I guess their analogy was that rich people don't like to walk!

We originally booked in at another Sana hotel just down the road but when we arrived we were told they had let our rooms go to someone else and upgraded us...we had mixed feelings about this. But they did kindly pay for a taxi to get us to the new hotel which was just around the corner - the Epic Sana Lisboa.

Everything about this hotel was 'epic', including the hill which you must get up before you arrive, thank god they paid for our taxi. Then your arrive in reception and it has all the hallmarks of American hotels - spacious & marble floors, but this one had a chic styling which I guess was true to their Epic brand.

The hotel's rooms were truly incredible; stylish, chic and luxurious. Room decor is modern, minimal and very inoffensive. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in in my life although my partner was about 1/2 a km away from me on the other side! Slight exaggeration.

The hotel put a welcome message on the screen which is behind mirrored glass so completely disappears and turns into a mirror when the TV is off...it was very cool.

The shower had different heads and modes like a spa.

The only thing that the room lacked was a decent view....which comes back to location.

We ate in the hotel's restaurant and this proved to be an expensive affair. However the food is 1* Michelin standard and truly amazing. The restaurant lacked atmosphere due to the fact we were the only people in their bar 2 other parties. The staff were very friendly and despite paying through the nose it was a lovely experience.

We also checked out the hotel's spa which was in the basement. It is beautiful, again no expense spared on look, clean, spacious and fully equipped. The gym had a fair amount of kit in too.

I would defiantly recommend this hotel for a luxury business stop over and despite having a rooftop pool / bar it is not somewhere I would go on holiday by any stretch. You can't really walk anywhere and the hill you would have to climb to get back would give you a heart attack if you weren't fit enough...

Overall, a pleasant & appeasing stay which I will not forget.

We'd had a fantastic time travelling up and down the west coast and I wanted to treat my fiancée to a special last night. After much research I came up with this place as it reminded me of a place we stayed in opposite the Guggenheim in Bilbao.

Another fantastic experience in terms of being looked after as if you're the only guest, exactly as it should always be.

Despite arriving early, the concierge was able to acknowledge my request for a "special" room by finding one with a river view and allowing us to check in early. The only real negative is that the views aren't great as there's an odd housing estate building bang opposite the rear. We didn't spend much time looking out of the windows though so it wasn't an issue!

It was a very comfortable room, huge bed with very good pillows, all the gadgets your could ask for and a bath big enough for two to lie side-by-side.

The roof-top pool was fantastic and the day beds were extremely comfortable. The breakfast was also fantastic and generous with every taste catered for.

They really surpassed themselves when I asked for a late checkout (our flight was at 8pm) and they allowed us to keep the room until 5pm! Now that is super service and extremely kind of the concierge on duty.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the upper floors for a more commanding view.

We chose this hotel because of the swimming pool, but even though it was during the summer season the pool water was absolutely freezing and you couldn't use it... We noticed that we were not the only ones that thought so...
Room was lovely, tea and coffe making fascilities, generous bath tub, air con working, delicious chocolates delivered every evening.
Breakfast was good, but they serve the coffee and tea at the table and we found ourselves waiting a lot for refills...
Location is a little bit outside of the center of Lisbon, ten minute walk to the metro station (and 2-3 stops away) or a 5-6 Euro cab ride to get to the center of town.
Cleanliness: not 5 star...

There's a saying "You get what You pay for." In this case I actually believe we got a little more than we payed for! Stay on the tenth floor for sure if possible. It's a five star hotel, with all you can imagine to make your stay as nice as possible. Very nice outdoor pool overlooking the city, amazing rooms with everything you need, very nice indoor spa where you feel very much at home, and a nice gym too. The breakfast was a ground-breaking experience for me. I felt really spoiled, and the service was top class all over.
Welt-klasse!

Room Tip: Get a room on the top floor to either side is very good. Preferably equal numbered rooms, because th...

Let me first start off by saying that I stayed at the Sofitel in Lisboa and the Epic Sana within 2 weeks of each other. There is no comparison! Epic Sana wins hands down! It is more "vacation like" here.

Epic Sana is very modern but still feels warm and relaxing . The gym is one of the best I've seen in a hotel. It has all of the latest cardio and weight machines. The machines even count your reps for you just in case you forget what number your on:) There is a fabulous indoor pool which is very quiet and there is a rooftop one as well. The rooftop is very 'lounge like," with multiple cabanas and places to relax. You better go up early if you want to reserve a cabana though, it gets busy.

The Rooms are outstanding! The blinds for the windows are automatic and with a push of a button the ocean view is revealed. There are also automatic blinds for the shower if you are comfortable with the person you're staying with. The room is equipped with surround sound which even leads into the bathroom. The closet space is insane! There is more hanging and drawer space than anyone could ever use. There is a huge safe in the closet that your laptop will fit in. The only thing I didn't like was the bed. It was a bit firm and not comfortable for me. That's just a personal preference. Oh, I forgot to mention that there is also a nespresso coffee machine in the room as well.

The breakfast buffet was vast and very good. If you get there early enough you can get a table by the window overlooking the ocean.

All in all, Epic Sana is a fantastic, relaxing hotel in a good location. With the hight quality furniture in the rooms to the Azzaro cosmetics that are provided you can't go wrong staying here. I had an early flight to catch and asked reception what my options were in terms of eating breakfast. They delivered a full on breakfast to my room at 5:30 Am free of charge. It was outstanding! I would definitely stay here again.

We were absolutely delighted by every aspect of our one-week family vacation, and hope to return soon. The breakfast and dinner buffet were both incredibly high quality. Upon arrival, we received a complimentary upgrade from a junior suite to an enormous executive suite. We really appreciated having the extra space while traveling with our two-year old. The suite worked perfectly for us to shower, work, watch tv, etc. while she napped in the separate bedroom every afternoon. We loved being able to make our own espresso and head down to the lovely spa and fitness center during naptime too. The staff was so helpful and courteous, and gladly filled our baby bottle with milk several times each day. We also loved the big grocery store just a few steps from the hotel, where we stocked up on fresh and inexpensive fruit, cheese and wine! This hotel is truly EPIC.

Great hotel, we arrived early and we were delighted to be given a room straight away, the rooms are bright spacious and the nespresso machine was a lovely surprise and the free wifi was great. The pool area is beautiful, and gets the sun all day with great views over the city and really comfy sun loungers. Food and drink are expensive at the pool as with any five star hotel. We had a late flight and we were given a late check out with no problems and also offered the use of the shower facilities at the spa downstairs which was great. The location of the hotel is up a big hill i would recommend getting a taxi if you have bags and its about a fifteen minute walk into the centre. Its about a five minute walk to the left from a big shopping centre with great shops, some restaurants and a supermarket. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay in it on my next trip to Lisbon.
