Description: Xapuri, It is a place with a welcoming and relaxed decor where the line is a "brand" of recovery and recycling of various parts, from the furniture to the wall intervention with doors in a vaulted interior of the fifteenth century. Specialties from Here and There ... A mixture of flavors and cultures, a menu rich and differentiated. We propose therefore a range of tastes/flavors of an exquisite journey through the various horizons of contemporary cuisine. We are open to the public six days a week for dinner. Good appetite !!

While I don't quite understand the level of hyperbole in some of the other reviews, we had a pleasant evening at Xapuri. The food is interesting and stylishly presented, the interior design is quirky and the waiting staff were friendly and efficient.

The food is probably best described as Mediterranean tapas, with quite a lot of Italian inspired dishes. NB that the descriptions were sometimes quite misleading - what was described as focaccia was actually more of a take on bruschetta but none the less tasty for that. And there are a few vegetarian dishes, which can be a blessing in Lisbon.

So this is definitely worth trying if you want a break from traditional Portuguese food.

We went to Xapuri in December 2013 while we were on our honeymoon (from Sydney, Australia)
We read the reviews at the time and a lot the reviews said it was good for the price. Which it is. But I think that understates how fantastic this restaurant was.
It was a quiet night when we went, we got fantastic service from our waitress. The atmosphere was still really nice because of the design of the restaurant.
The food was incredible and very well priced as noted. Everything we had was wonderful, the kind of meal where you dread finishing! I particularly remember the ox tail and the goats cheese. The bread they served at the start was probably the best we had on our honeymoon.
I hope we can return one day and enjoy another memorable meal. Enjoy!

Upon entering for the first time we noticed the quirky interior design, the atmospheric lighting and the quiet fitting music playing in the background.

The menu had many interesting dishes so we wanted to order them all. It contained tapas-like dishes and we ordered quite a few; they came in intervals so we had a chance to focus on the one we were eating. The dishes were not too small, eg the falafel had six or seven falafels. The host was friendly, recommending favourite dishes and asking about our visit to Portugal.

The food was done exceptionally well and the presentation was nice.

We enjoyed the meal so much we decided to come back for brunch.
The brunch food was not as sophisticated as the dinner but would appeal to any taste with light dishes as well as traditional breakfast dishes.

Definitely a must go if you are in Lisbon.

It's a lovely place with spacious tables, nice deco and friendly staff. Particularly enjoyed the salmon tartar and sardines. Great homemade bread and salad as sides. And not to be left out - the sangria red!! Yet the waiter said the sangria sparkling could be even better but the red was flawless in my opinion. Ended with apple strudel yummy not too sweet!

After reading up on dining in Lisbon I went on to Xapuri. It was a lovely experience from start to finish. The staff was completely friendly and warm. Being alone on this European adventure sometimes the solo clientele can be cast aside and in this case it was very welcoming. I very much enjoyed the minimal but rustic interior with the vaulted ceilings and old doors fixed to the wall as decor. The wine was fantastic and the food was wonderful. I even inquired about the music several times as it was just so perfectly fitting to the vibe and setting. Highly recommend this place. Will go back again probably even during this particular trip.
