Throwing in some good vocal music for a very affordable few, makes this place almost live up to its top rating here at TripAdvisor. The fish main courses, especially the cod, was superb. Starters and deserts were good. Wine too. Service was fine. Highly recommended.

This place has (apparently) taken off since a savvy reviewer said "try the 5 courses with wine to match"

This variation was not on the menu until that review was made - now it is commonplace!!

It's actually worthy of a very good review.

My wife and I ate here on a wet and windy Sunday night.

We'd pre-booked the degustation menu and were glad we did!!

Our waiter spoke perfect English and was very knowledgeable about the wines he served.

Warm bread, garlic butter, black olive paste and conserves with a glass of white port as an appetizer - excellent.

Gazpacho - white to match - excellent

Scrambled egg with pudding sausage and Mateus Rose!! - surprising.

Baked goats cheese and vinaigrette salad - white to match - excellent again - so perfectly balanced that the cheese did not taste like goats cheese at all.

Baked cod with a clunking red - excellent.

Black pork cheeks with a nice soft red - really really good.

Ending with a cinnamon tart accompanied by home made cinnamon ice cream with white port - very good indeed.

Coffee and brandies - 100 Euro - money well spent.

I'll be returning.

I and my husband made a reservation for dinner and Fado show in December while visiting Lisbon. From Fado show we expected so much more and different, but it was pretty average and nothing special. We left before the end. Food, though, was excellent. Gazpacho soup was one of the best things we ever tasted. Steak was heavenly delicious, so was the salad. Desert at the and was recommended by waitress, but in the end it didn't turn as good as promised. We drank sangria - very good! Staff is extremely polite and helpful, waitress was sweet and kind. Place is very nice and well decorated. But prices are high. All in all, glad we went, but probably for the first and last time (because of prices and average show).

Was showing Lisbon to some friends and enter this Restaurant by accident but was i very happy of that because as a fantastic atmosphere (the building belong to an acient Convent), the Décor is great (every table as diferent old chairs) and a beautiful Piano! I know they have live music but only at night and we were there lunch time. I ate the grilled Octopus (Polvo à Lagareiro), typical portuguese dish and the presentation was outstanding and the flavour even better and only cost 7€! The owner Carlos is a genuine nice guy! Totally recommend it! looking forward to return!
