Rue Portas de Santo Antao is a little street full of restaurants. As a previous poster has stated, as you walk down this street in the evening you are assaulted on all sides by people trying to entice you into their restaurant. Having walked the length of the street we decided on this one. Ambiance was fine, service was friendly and efficient, food was fine and prices were good. Not altogether sure it's authentic Italian in that there was also a Portuguese menu and if you ignored the menu numbers, both menues appeared to contain the same dishes, but not necessarily in the same order. However everything was fine and we were happy wih out meal.

This restaurant is located in a pedestrian walkway full of restaurants. Many restaurants along the walkway, including this one, have guys who open their menu to you as you walk by, trying to get you to come to their place. I walked through this gauntlet one evening and was approached by probably a dozen guys from a dozen different restaurants. For some reason I decided to pick Ciao Milano, and I'm sure glad I did. I had a great salmon plate with a good amount of vegetables (something you can't always get easily in Lisbon/Portugal). They specialize in traditional Portuguese and Italian cooking. Didn't have any of the Italian offerings, so can't comment on that. The wine was great as well. Nice atmosphere sitting outside and watching the people stroll by. Also, the waiters were very friendly and enjoyed talking with their customers. I had some great conversations with them...and all of them speak English.

And then a few nights later, I went back again. They actually remembered me. The experience, food and wine was just as good. There are a lot of choices in the pedestrian walkways of Lisbon, but I think this one stands out above the others.
