On our first day in Lisbon we stumbled across ZamBeZe after a day of sightseeing . It's hard to ignore the dramatic view the terrace offers. We sat down for a beer to enjoy the view. It was sunset and the staff were preparing the tables in the dining room. I asked to see the menu and was told that it was Portuguese-Mocambique cuisine .
On day 2 in Lisbon, we took a 20 minute cab ride to Enoteca de Belem for a Saturday evening dinner . We were disappointed and dismayed that it was closed. Without a back-up plan, I remembered ZamBeZe from the previous afternoon . The beautiful dining room was full, so we sat in the terrace with the sweeping views of Lisbon. It was chilly !
Our waiter was FANTASTIC ! He was very accommodating and friendly. We were 4 adults, one being a vegetarian.
We started with an array of cheese, olives, bread and the delicious house wine from their own, private vineyard. Our main dishes were bacalao, grilled goat meat, pork and seafood. The dessert table had an impressive selection of local desserts.
We had an excellent evening at ZamBeZe . Service was equally excellent . Recommend.
