“One of best Fire Service museums in Europe open to visitors in Lisbon”

Museu RSB (Museu do Regimento de Sapadores Bombeiros)
Ranked #405 of 447 things to do in Lisbon
Reviewed April 4, 2014

The RSB (Lisbon’s Municipal FD) Museum is, by far, the best of its kind in Portugal and probably one of the best in Europe as well.

The preserved fleet of historical apparatus consists of more than 20 customized design, hard to find elsewhere or unusual pieces, ranging from 18th century hand-drawn to 20th century automotive and for the most in good running order! Some of the rigs are however kept on museum reserve or awaiting upgrading status (you can expect finding at least 10 major well preserved pieces on display at any time).

A considerable amount of these vehicles is at permanent public display in an excellent purpose-designed building, annex to RSB’s Batallion 3 satellite station (alongside the huge uptown Colombo shopping mall; access by subways station Colégio Militar).
