“Great little hotel”
Reviewed July 22, 2014

We stayed in Lisbon for a long weekend with a couple of our friends and got a great rate for the mercy hotel. When we arrived we were greeted with a cold flannel which was much appreciated given the weather. Check in was speedy and we had free wifi all throughout our stay.

The bedroom is lovely and modern, just what you need for a weekend break, although the safe is a little unconventional. You have everything in the room, a fridge, coffee machine, hair dryer (a very good hair dryer which made me very happy!) and toiletries. Great flat screen tv with loads of channels and a speaker in the bathroom...

The staff were SO friendly, particularly Ricardo who was great with suggestions for nice foodie places, he recommended a lovely restaurant to us called Casa do bacalhau and even showed us his personal pictures of his visit to the restaurant so as to give us tips on what to order there for food and wine...

We had an issue with our air conditioning on the last night, but they moved us to another room very swiftly.

Would visit this lovely hotel again, great location, great staff, generally very pleasant ! Thanks hotel Mercy!

I stayed at this hotel for just over a week for work. I chose it based on its location and the trip advisor reviews. There are two classes of rooms at this boutique hotel, 'cosy' and 'chiado'. I booked a cosy room and was prepared for it to be quite small. When I arrived at the hotel, I asked for a room with a desk, because I had read I an earlier review that some rooms don't have them. The doorman went and checked several rooms before they allocated me a room. I also asked for a quiet room. In the end, I was on the 5th floor facing away from the street. I was looking over the top of nearby houses across to the castle and had loads of sun. The room was supremely quiet which was wonderful.

The hotel has been established recently, and clearly the designers were told to make it trendy. They have mostly succeeded in creating a comfortable but different/quirky hotel. My room was laid out rather strangely and in the bathroom sometimes the design meant that things weren't completely practical, but i had no real complaints. It had most of the amenities you would expect. The bed was on the firm side but comfortable, and the blackout curtains were really effective. The housekeepers were very good, and the nightly chocolates were appreciated! The included Wifi is of a decent speed.

The real stars of the hotel are the staff. They really go out of their way to help you, and I often saw them with guests giving recommendations of where to go and how to get there. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and they were always friendly and welcoming. Yes, the location of this hotel is outstanding - close to many forms of public transport and in walking distance of many of Lisbon's downtown attractions. But the service is what's sets this hotel apart. I would definitely return ... But maybe opt for one of the bigger rooms next time!

Room Tip: The staff seemed very willing to respond to specific requests, so don't be afraid to ask. I woul...

This hotel is great! Can't say enough about the front desk team. Their help with the fish restaurant
Aqui Ha Peixe was fantastic! Probably one of my top restaurants I have ever been to. The location is so close to everything, shopping, late afternoon glass of wine, quick shop across street. The only down side is the rooms are small and the lighting is so low hard to see in bathroom to apply makeup etc. Great time!

Room Tip: Not on front street some noisy people outside very late. Both nights of stay, but doors are pretty...

Great location next to all the action and the staff recommended great restaurants and couldn't do enough for us we will be back

Ask the the front desk staff and doormen for anything you need as they are very knowledgeable

Remember it's an old town so rooms are smaller than normally 5 star out of old towns

It was not my first time at this hotel but still very good
Got upgrade Chiado room good size all amenities you need bathrobe slippers...
Rooms are design to be darked...
I have tried breakfast very good (like a buffet but they serve you)
All Staff is always efficient and very nice (the doorman Ronnie is great as well Felipe and the new trainee Afonso)
Very good location for bars and restaurants and close by subway, you can do everything walking distance
As mentionned by a previous guest no gym or pool, they should maybe think to do a small gym
Highly recommended
Can be a good value \price if you get a promotion

A Very friendly Boutique Hotel right in the centre of Lisbon - convenient for seeing Lisbon over the course of a weekend. Concierge was incredibly helpful in recommending routes and ideas on what to see and where to go. The rooms aren't big though - and are very modern looking - dark lighting - I asked to change the first room to another room simply because the first room was too small for my requirements and also right next to the lift. Fortunately they were able to accommodate me and I got a bigger room - if the hotel had been full I would of been less pleased with my hotel experience. Downers for this hotel - no pool or gym and the hotel bar is a little dead but then again what hotel bar is ever busy when you have a vibrant city to see on your door step. The tasty chocolates on the Pillow were a nice touch - the breakfast in bed was pretty good although was missing a few choices. Would happily stay here again with friends.
