Neat, clean, well apportioned hotel with a super-friendly staff. Easy to find and easy to navigate around the city. Staff had terrific recommendations regarding sites, restaurants, bars, etc. Value is excellent.

The service at the Mercy is superb. We arrived about 12.30am after a late flight and the front desk staff were great. They gave us a hot towel to refresh and a welcome cocktail while we checked in.

The doorman Ronnie is awesome, he suggested plenty of suitable bars and restaurants for us and was always happy to have a chat.

On checking out the front desk staff took our bags half way to the train station for us and pointed us the way. An excellent little extra which makes all the difference.

The location is ideal for exploring the city, you are on the doorstep of the Barrio Alto if you want the lively nightlife. However the more interesting restaurants are behind the hotel in the square with the archeological museum in. Carmo and cafe royale are particularly good.

Overall I would definitely stay in the Mercy again.

Our group stayed at the Mercy during the UEFA final. Staff were very friendly and remembered our preferences. No request was too difficult, we felt likes special guests. Location is great, easy to walk around Lisbon. Rooms were well appointed and comfortable...albeit small for South African standards. Very good. Thank you.

I've stayed to the Mercy Hotel for 6 nights between May 16 and 22. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful with all sorts of things to make your stay and your Lisbon experience wonderful (directions, restaurant suggestions and activities etc.). The price-quality of this hotel is great. The room was spacious, very clean and had plenty of light during the day while quiet enough in the night. I had a deluxe double room with breakfast included. Breakfast is delicious. Don't hesitate to try the Umai sushi-thai restaurant at the lobby of the hotel. The boutique feel of the Mercy hotel distinguishes it, coupled with the always smiling and helpful staff at the front desk (ask for Ronnie or Lana).

Room Tip: Ask for a room higher than the 2nd floor and you'll get a better view over the neighbouring buil...

Only point to irove the price it is quite expensive for thebprestation and the rooms are very small and design but nit pra tical.

We selected this hotel because of the TripAdvisor reviews and its location. We were not disappointed. We arrived around 9 a.m. after a long flight from the States. The front desk staff wasn't able to give us an early check in but they promptly stored our luggage and pointed us in the right direction for breakfast. The room was very comfortable with a great bed. The room was dark and quiet even for a nap in the middle of the afternoon. The rooms are dark with a lot of mirrors and doors that can confuse you. We got used to them by the 2nd day but a bit strange. The mirror in the bathroom hung out over the sink quite which was awkward. There is a small bar/lounge downstairs with free computer use, a variety of games and a bar with evening service. The location cannot be beat. Walking distance to everything - we are walkers. Ronnie was in tune with what we wanted to do immediately and guided us to the right venues and restaurants our entire stay providing directions, maps and tips. Thank you!!!

Room Tip: We were on one of the upper floors in a nicer room that looked out the back at the castle. Lovely!

This is in a great location on edge of Barrio Alto and Chiado -- just a bit up the hill from Largo Chiado for trams and metro -- and a quick, if a bit steep, walk down the nearby Calcada do Duque steps (just by the Igreja de Sao Roque with great interior) to Rossio station for train to Sintra. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Good breakfast, a kind of hybrid of continental with scrambled eggs. I had a room on the street-side which was actually quieter than I thought it would be on the street, which can be fairly busy night-time. The bar has cool decor, but is very quiet. The barman told me they are looking at doing a rooftop one, so that's something to look out for.
