Absolutely terrific place right in a quiet street in the north west of the centre. The rooms are amazingly beautiful, furnished with attention to detail I have rarely ever encountered. Every room looks like it jumped directly out of a international home decoration magazine, but still the atmosphere is very personal and private. Breakfast was super delicious and healthy, too - with freshly squeezed juices, jummy casseroles that changed on a daily basis and tasty bread that even travellers from the home country of the bread baking art can appreciate.

The hosts, Joao and Luis were super friendly and helpful and did everything to make us feel at home and we did! We definitely enjoyed our stay here and will be back for sure.

Casa Amora is a wonderful little boutique hotel just outside of the main hustle and bustle of Lisbon. Rooms are great - we had a beautiful clawfoot bathtub, very high ceilings, an amazing bed, etc.
Breakfasts are gourmet and included, cooked on the spot throughout the night (amazing omelet casseroles, muffins, cold cuts, fresh squeezed juices, etc etc).
The staff is very helpful in guiding you to areas to see and things to do. My wife and I stayed here during our honeymoon and though we only had 2 days in Lisbon we were given a number of great suggestions and had a blast.
The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to get to the main strip (Ave de la Liberdade).
The only thing you need to know is that the Casa does not have a sign on the outside. Thus, like us, if you get lost trying to find the place, you might be a bit confused until you actually decide to knock on what otherwise looks like a random house.
Stay here! And have a nice trip!

We stayed our last night i Lisbon at this very charming and peachful place.
We had to leave early because of early flight so we missed the breakfast, but Luis had prepared some breakfast in the fridge which where very tasty.
We stayed at the duplex with our own terrace that was great.

We will love to stay at Casa Amora again soon.

We enjoyed the warm and friendly welcome in the beautiful and quiet new boutique hotel. A great place to stay for us and our kids on the way to the Algarve. The area is very central and the owner gave us some great tips for dining in the area.

Lisbon was our last stop of our trip through Portugal and we are so glad to have found this beautiful guesthouse with these friendly hosts.

Every room has a different character and design. We had one with a bath tub inside, very special and luxurious. :)

The breakfast was the best, rich and healthy!

The house is located in a quite part of the center near by the Museu da Água. In June all the trees in the area were in full bloom and the fruity smell always welcomed us back from our trip in the city.

From this point its not far to reach all places of interest. We can really recommend it! It seems to be like a wonderful pearl in the city.

We stayed at Casa Amora for three days, one day longer than we planned for, because it was a really lovely place in an great area. We had some great nights in the park (around the corner), and even better morning with the best breakfasts ever.
We can recommend this place for everybody who wants to have a relaxed stay in Lisbon!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Casa Amora is a typical building of Lisbon’s early twentieth century petite bourgeoisie, renovated in 2012, with a small outdoor patio for rest or meals and 5 bedrooms (all with bathroom). Each room pays homage to one of the great figures of Portuguese art (painting, music, literature, film) of the last century. The process of renewal and adaptation carefully kept all the decorative elements existing in the rooms (plaster) and exterior (tiles, balcony), introducing a color palette that contributes to a peaceful and relaxing environment. Casa Amora is located in one of the nicest and most central districts of Lisbon, Praça das Amoreiras. In this neighborhood, where the 18th century Aqueduct (that survived the great Lisbon earthquake of 1755) reaches and end, Casa Amora is neighbor to Water Museum (Museu da Mae de Agua) and the Vieira da Silva / Arpad Szenes museum. Residents and visitors have easy and direct access to the neighborhoods of antique shops (Rua de Sao Bento and Rua da Escola Politecnica), historic districts (Bairro Alto and Chiado), Avenida da Liberdade and its fashion shops as well as the shopping center Amoreiras, all at walking distance. ... more   less
