Beautiful, clean, spacious and well furnished apartment with a view. Friendly and helpful staff, and as a previous reviewer observed its in a 'real' neighbourhood, but still only 10 minutes walk to Rossio Square or up to the Castello. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and intend to return again.

Room Tip: The Panoramic Apartments are worth it

We stayed at the Pateo for four nights in late June and absolutely loved it.
The apartment itself was a 115sqm "Panoramic" suite 1br with exactly that type of view from most windows and French doors over the old town of Lisbon. Complete with a sizable common terrace and swimming pool (no diving as is very shallow!), this is a fantastic spot to relax after a long hot day of exploring Lisbon. The apartments are electic in their furnishing, but really comfortable. The ability to buy food either from local shops or the large supermarket at the bottom of Rua das Farinhas means self catering is really easy. The local area and Lisbon generally has a lot restaurants if you don't feel like cooking.
We enjoyed staying in the Mouraria district as it is a real neighbourhood with fewer tourists venturing into its steep and narrow streets and lanes.
The absolute highlight of staying in this area was a street party on one of the nights complete with stalls selling caiparinhas, mojitos and great cheap food as well as a band performing on the steps of an old church. The sort of experience money can't buy.
The only downside of this area is that the locals are a little less than fastidious when it comes to street or house proud. This is evidenced by a fair amount of rubbish being left in the street.
Overall though, we enjoyed Lisbon and Pateo immensely.

We were so pleased to find a lovely, modern apartment with LOTS of space for our four night stay in Lisbon. It cost less than the priciest hotels, and had both parking and a pool area. It lived up to its billing in every way. Unfortunately, we visited during a new event for the neighborhood--the three-day "Mouraria Light Walk," a lovely event in many ways, with people wandering the streets at night and various light shows. HOWEVER, the main event for the light walk was a live concert in the plaza RIGHT next to our room, with a disk jockey starting at 12:30 and going until 2:00 a.m. It was like sleeping in a Disco hall. On the nights when this wasn't happening, it was absolutely quiet. The owners were unaware that this event was going to happen (they learned about it the day we arrived). And it was a "first annual" event. So beware next July 18-20! Fortunately, the owners were able to give us a small room at another one of their properties so that we could get a good night's sleep on July 20 (after two sleepless nights, we were ready!). We appreciated that they accommodated us in this way.
Although we were on our own, I think this property is ideal for families visiting Lisbon because the pool was a great way for kids to take a break.

We were only looking for one night getaway in Lisbon while on holidays in Portugal. We are glad we found this place! We stayed in a two bedroomed apartment on the second floor. We drove there and were glad to find a locked carpark. The apartment was very spacious and we had 2 extra beds in the living room which did not take away much of the space of the room. There is a small balcony (stand up only) along the apartment and the view is very nice. the furnishing and finisging of the apartment was of high standard. This felt like a luxury apartment and seemed worth the money they ask for. Did not try the tv. Also considering the outside space, with garden and a nice pool - not deep but enough to enjoy. We thought the fresh bread in the morning was a nice touch, the wireless worked really well. Staff was extremely friendly.
In contrast with the modernity of the complex, you do step outside in another time... you are in the old quarters of lisbon. As it is on the banks of the hill of the castle it is slightly high to access hence the nice views but it also means some steps to get there on foot. I and the children counted them- 103 in total (could have missed a couple!), but it did not feel too hard to climb even for my young children. At the bottom of the stairs you are in square da figueira where you can catch lots of public transport, you have access tp numerous places to eat etc.
Im still going to pick one thing I would change though and that is the blinds. They are very thin fabric blinds and light comes through early morning. Also the same blind is in the bathroom of the suite which seems to give too little privacy as there are apartments accross the street.
Overall, the apartments were located in a quiet area. Would definately recommend this place to friends and families. Oh and there is a little gym too!

Room Tip: I would say the higher the better- not only for the view but also because the floors are not carpetted and so we did hear footsteps in the morning from above.

From the moment the hired driver came to the airport to collect us up until we left the apartment, we were astonished by the luxury of this hidden away resort. The apartment was like nothing we had ever been in before, with decorative, stylish furniture and an amazing pateo and pool. The 24 hour service was excellent when you needed to ask something, however the only downside was that their English wasn't great, or our Portuguese, you could argue. All in all the amazing apartment with fresh bread every single morning and staff that were willing to walk you all the way down to the pharmacy, made this an experience to remember.
