My husband and I visited this museum after seeing a show in Barrio Alto and falling in love with Fado. The museum has great displays on the history of Fado and a lot of interesting multimedia that includes many songs and videos. I wanted to know more about how people learn Fado, but I will look that up on my own. Overall, the museum was just the right size for me--you could spend a few hours and feel like you absorbed most of the information.

A great museum. If you don't love Fado you will when you leave. It's a small museum but the exhibits are good. The audio accompaniment is a must and I suggest bringing headphones so you don't have to walk around with the handset to your head. The listening stations towards the end are a great way to find artists you like for future listening.

You can spend hours in there without even being a fado enthusiast - the information in there is captive enough that will keep you there for a long time. Great way to understand the folk culture in Lisbon a bit more.

Although this is a small museum, its fascinating and you can spend ages listening to the audio guide and looking at exhibits.
The café looked very inviting although we didn't have time to stop there.
Very helpful staff and a great little shop.
