Very pleasant hotel, less than 5 mins from metro, staff excellent, very helpful when needed, breakfast buffet style excellent. Room lovely, only criticism pillows were awful, very quiet, would definately recommend and will stay here again.

We stayed two nights on a city break to Lisbon. We were looking for a quality hotel given our short stay and were not disappointed.

As stated by other reviewers multiple times, the staff are outstanding and a real credit to the hotel. The location is very good, though be aware that you will need to use the metro to get to the usual tourist sites as the location is not in or near the old town. I would recommend Sao Sebastiao station to get to the hotel (rather than Parque) as this is an easy and relaxed walk to the hotel - turn left out the barriers to exit. This station is also very handy for both the airport.and the city. If travelling around Lisbon by public transport, the day ticket available from multi-lingual vending machines in each station is good value.

The hotel has a premium feel which extends to all the public areas and some of the rooms. Other rooms (including ours) are slightly more basic, but given the excellent deal we received even these were above expectations. There is no lack of space, and the bathrooms in particular are luxurious. In common with other Iberian Peninsula hotels, be aware there is no hospitality tray provided and the bedding is of the blanket (rather than duvet) variety.

We did not dine in the hotel (either for dinner or breakfast), but the facilities were welcoming and a full service is provided. In addition, there is a restaurant directly opposite the hotel which is rated elsewhere on this site. A minibar is provided in the rooms, with prices comparable to other hotels of its class. Bottled water is only available from the minibar, however I would recommend the El Corte Ingles department store for any snacking/bottled water needs. This is connected to Sao Sebastiao station on the opposite side to the hotel exit, and has a large supermarket and basic food court.

Internet, as mentioned elsewhere, is complimentary but only a wired connection is available in the rooms. Public areas have Wi-Fi. This means you will not be able to use internet in your room without a workaround if all you come with is a tablet computer such as an iPad. Reception will lend you an Ethernet cable for use with laptops/netbooks, but our loan example had the connector latches snapped off from repeated use, so I would recommend you bring your own.

There are complimentary spa facilities on site, but we did not try these.

All in all, excellent value and facilities with a good location. A few minor shortcomings generally, with cheaper rooms more akin to 4* standard. No complaints given the price paid.

Final tip for Spain and Portugal in general: very few wines are available with screw tops. Plan accordingly.

Was worried by some reviews saying that this hotel was inconvenient but we found it a good place to stay. Easy to get into the centre using the Metro from Parque station (5 mins walk). Buy a day card and you can use all the metro, trams and buses within the centre. Hotel itself was very good and the staff were very helpful. Room was good although the bed was a bit solid. We asked for a room with a city view which looked out onto the street which was pleasant. We only ate dinner in the hotel once and it was good if unremarkable. It was certainly good value for money and would stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a city view overlooking the street. It is interesting but not noisy.

Big Hotel near Parque metro station tricky to find by car because of all the one way streets.
It was our second stay in Lissabon at the end of a round trip and the hotel was maybe fully booked.
To visit Lissabon it isn't the best location as you always have to take the metro into downtown or walk all the way down which takes about 20minutes.

The hotel is at most a good 4 star hotel. The Staff was awesome but i've never seen a such a breakfast party like this. The breakfast room was in the basement with no sun light or windows and pretty small. Several times in the morning there was a queue and we had to wait in front of the room until a table got free. The buffet was quite good but got totally overrun.

Our room was clean but pretty old as the whole hotel is.

I would totally recommend to take a room in a "pensao" or an appartment in Lissabon downtown as we did in the first part of our roundtrip and which was way better than this hotel.

We had the pleasure pf staying at Hotel Real Palacio 4 nights. The staff are absolute exelent , we felt treated like royalties the hole time. This was our first visit in Lisbon and Portugal. We had a suite in second floor with a nice litle balcony , very clean , nice shower , but on the minus side a little bit to hard bed. The kitchen did make special adjustment for our food alergy, at this time at year i think we did smart in our choice of hotel , its a bit colder closer to the big river. We will defently stay there again next time we visit Lisbon.

Just outside the hotel, there's many small restaurants and shops, it's a perfect location and nice to be away from the more crowded conditions of the city center. The breakfast buffet in the morning was a great way to start the day. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I thought the prices for the mini-bar in the room and hotel bar were way too high. Although the mini-bar with snack and drinks in the fridge in your room is a great idea and the nice hotel bar looked inviting, it priced itself of our business and many of the other guests business as well. That was ok because it encouraged us to go exploring and we found an incredible little restaurant on the next block. We went there 4 times during our week visit, it was THAT good! It's called the "Paixao aos Molhos" and it's a 2 minute walk from the hotel. When you step outside of the hotel, go to your right along the hotel, take the next left up the block and it's on the left hand side. It's easy to miss but well worth finding, it was one of the highlights of our trip.
2 blocks from the hotel, there's a huge mall and a park. At the bottom level of the mall is the metro, which takes you throughout the city, there are also bus stops everywhere so it's no problem getting around, we had to ask many questions but everyone was helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again, I already miss the hotel, the nice people and the incredible food.

Room Tip: 1st floor was nice location, it was easy to get back and forth to the main lobby.
