I was pleasantly surprised by our stay at this hotel for 3 nights in July. We had no problems with our room - the bathroom was large, the air conditioning worked, it was clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful - we had a very early flight out of Lisbon, and the staff arranged to have a taxi waiting outside for us to the airport. The wifi was really speedy, it cost 5 euros for 24 hours or 2 euros for an hour. They also had a small vending machine where you could buy cold drinks, including beer which came in handy.

We had no problem finding the hotel. It is probably a 5 minute walk to Avenida station, and from there you can hop on the train to the airport (switching trains once) - the airport line just opened last week.

Our room was pretty close to where they prepared breakfast, so we did hear some noise around 7am - but it wasn't the end of the world.

Location was great - probably the cheapest hotel in this location

Location was great, on Lisbon's answer to the champs elysee, near to all the action. Room was nice, simple but with character, but was on the cramped side. Won't argue for the price though. We had a room on the breakfast room level, which as had been reported previously was a bit noisy in the mornings, but we dozed through most mornings except for one when there was a very loud guy! No noise from outside however as we had a courtyard room.

I stayed at this centrally located hotel in Lisbon for 3 nights and was presently surprised with the service and value. First, the hotel is located directly on the Aerobus line from the airport. The bus stops directly across from the hotel. The fare is 3.50 Euros. Finding the hotel can be a bit confusing as the building looks like a residential building. Although there is a hotel sign in the front, you have to ring a bell to be buzzed into the building, then take the elevator to the second floor where the hotel reception is located. Once I figured that out, everything was easy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room, although small by U.S. standards, was quite nice and the private marble bath was very good. The room came with a safe (for a nominal fee), flat screen TV and wifi. Breakfast was included in my rate, which was only a few extra Euros per night.

I would highly recommend this property if on a budget as you would expect to pay twice as much for the type of service and accommodations offered at this hotel.

Room Tip: I chose a room toward the back of the hotel and away from the front/main street. The room was smalle...

The staff upon arrival & during our stay were fantastic; very helpful with places to eat, drink & see in our short trip. Very accomodating with a late check-out for one of our group who was not feeling well.

Rooms very clean and comfortbale, hotel is in a great location for exploring the town, places to eat, drink & relax.

If you are a light sleeper, avoid room 210 (backs onto kitchen & breakfast room) plus 209, 208, 207 & 206 - all close to breakfast room & kitchen.

I have no hesitation in recommending Hotel Dom Sancho 1 & will stay here on any future trip to Lisbon.

We stayed there with few friends in rooms on the same floor of the breakfast area.
Do not do that!...in the morning the noises of the dishes and people woke us up regularly around 7:30!!!...if we were not woken up by the noises from works outside.

Good point is the perfect location in the city!

Room Tip: I guess if you ask for a room on the upper floors the conditions are better...

It's close to the city centre and only 10min by metro from the train station. Rooms are decent size, clean, price is ok. Big minus is the noise in the morning, you can not sleep after 7AM!

Initially, the staff placed me in pensioner a few streets down after arriving at the hotel. I was very disappointed as a pensionare is lower than a hotel. After a little complaint, I was moved back to the hotel when the water was working again in the hotel. The blue line is about a 500 meter walk. it is close to Roissy Square and walking distance to most places. The metro in Lisbon probably won't be as utilized by a tourist. There are only 2 lines that are away from tourist spots.
