The AC Hotels are new to the Marriott family and they will need a little work to meet typical Marriott standards if the Lisbon location is evidence of what they provide. The room was adequate but sparse. Only one staff person on duty at all times. No concierge. Not the best location. While it is very quiet and near Metro it is definitely off the beaten path of anything you will do on Lisbon. Not a terrible experience but give location would not come back

The hotel was reasonably priced compared to other motels or hotels in the same category, given its Marriott branding. Our room was comfortable, clean and spacious with a big balcony by European standard and comes with free minibar. (a plus for hot summer days..)

However, the location is difficult to find and we actually need to call the hotel so that the front desk can direct our taxi driver to the hotel. But, once we locate it and use the local metro which is 5-7 minutes walk away, it's fine.

This hotel was a fine option for Lisbon - but it wasn't the easiest to locate because it's somewhat below the main street tucked into a corner and hard to see. However - once we did find it ... all was pretty swell. Rooms are nice and clean. Liked the complimentary midnight snack service in the lobby! Unlike some other reviewers, we had no trouble with the front desk staff - who were very helpful with directions, having extra towels brought to our room and storing our luggage when we had a late flight. The only cautions: (1) Because it is kinda tucked away, sometimes it felt a little shady at night on the final 3-4 minutes of our walk. (2) There is a really nice, new health club right beside it and apparently they stopped allowing hotel guests to use the elevator (which would have taken you up to the main street) so that makes - for instance - walking up to catch the airport bus on the main road more difficult than it should be. All in all, though - would stay again ... especially now that we could easily find it!

If you are used to a typical Marriott experience while traveling, you will be very disappointed in this hotel. The front desk staff did not appear to really care whether we were there or not. Seemed disinterested in answering our questions. We arrived late in the afternoon and asked for a restaurant recommendation in walking distance and they made the hard sell that there were not any and that we should eat in the hotel - which turned out to be not true. There are plenty of great restaurants within a 15 walk of this hotel. The location is not conducive to very much. We stayed for two days and they did not even replenish the shampoo or soap, picked the towels up off the floor and hung them up for us to re-use and, honestly, who wants to reuse a wash rag after you have used it in the beday? The fitness room equipment was junk and the steam room and shower were locked because they were under 'maintenance'.

Overall, a huge disappointment and not worth the money. Stay somewhere else - anywhere else would be our recommendation.

Room Tip: If you are on business and must stay here, then ask for a room on the front side of the hotel on the...

Great hotel in a great city! Right after our coming from Toronto, my wife and I were greeted at the reception by the members of the hotel's nice staff who throughout our entire stay of eight days were very very helpful. Among them, especially forthcoming and eager to help was a young gentleman named Pedro Isidro who provided us with all the information we needed, was eager to serve beyond the call of his duty and did everything to satisfy the needs of our whole group as we travelled in a company of friends. Mr Pedro Isidro is a true asset to his employer and deserves all the credit for our very satisfactory stay at AC Lisboa, as are in fact also his colleagues and I wish to mention Louis, Sarah Elias and others whose names escape my memory. Thank you Pedro, thank you AC Lisbon! Obrigado, Portugal! And see you next time.

We stayed here for two nights on our European Vacation. The hotel was nice and very clean and the rooms were spacious. We asked for a non-smoking room but for some reason our room still reeked of cigarette smoke. I wasn't sure if it was coming from the hallway but we didn't bother changing it. We still enjoyed the room and the location of the hotel is amazing! It's located in downtown and a very close walk to the metro as well as to the bus stations. It's close to the hop on hop off buses meeting point for tourists. Though I wouldn't recommend the Hop On Hop Off Bus that the hotel recommends. There are two lines that operate in Lisbon and the Hop On Hop Off brand that the hotel recommends is pretty terrible. The frequency of the buses are few and they only have two lines. Whereas, the Greyline one operates with four or five lines, with free wifi access, and we saw their buses more often. Both brands sell tickets at the meeting point so you can compare when you get there. Just don't buy the tickets from the hotel.

The hotel itself is also within walking distance to old town (about 20 minutes) but overall, it's a great location.

Taxis in Lisbon are extremely cheap so even though you stay here and grab a cab to go to old town, it would cost you about 2-3 euros one way. The hotel was great about calling taxis for us and they would arrive quickly with only about a 2-3 minute wait at most.

Everyone in Lisbon is nice from the taxi drivers to the hotel staff. We were extremely happy with our stay.

Definitely stay at this place if you're looking to stay in Lisbon!

We stayed here two nights on vacation. Big, clean room, big, clean bathroom. Nice staff. Take the airport bus to the marquis de pombal stop for $3.50, and be advised the hotel is a block over and down a whole level from street level because of the elevation changes in Lisbon. You will see the AC sign peeking out a bit. This hotel is close to the Metro, and in a seemingly safe neighborhood. We had a room facing the street and never heard a bit of noise.

One minor nitpick...if you need to charge multiple devices, ie camera, cell, iPad, you will be scrambling to find extra outlets in the room. We had to unplug lights to get outlets.
