Though most of the reviews were favourable there were few negative ones I was worried about and wasn't sure if I had made the right choice as this wasn't my first choice for hotel. Well, both myself and my companion were impressed with the space, cleanliness, and modern décor. For European standards, I would say the room size was spacious enough. Big closet space, mini bar, safe and coffee maker, desk and sofa chair. Nice TV. Very clean bathroom, comfy bed. We were on the 21st floor which gave us a very nice view till we saw the view of rooftops and houses. The other side of the hotel has a much prettier view of the Bridges and Aqueducts.

Oh yes, the patio was beautiful. Perfect to relax there on a nice day with a drink. Again a big plus for its 24 hour business centre and complimentary internet access. The bar and lounge looked nice too. There are doormen and concierge on the wait and ready to help with luggage so be prepared to tip. Morning calls in hotels are usually automated. With this hotel we found the automated call was soon followed by a person calling.

Though it's not in the city centre, there's a Metro across the street which made it very convenient to travel downtown, about 20 or 25 mins. For a 6 euro day pass you can use the Metro, trams too. If you want a cheaper breakfast, there're a few cafes round the corner. Could get a decent breakfast for about 2-3 euros if you're a small eater. The cafes are located to the right of the hotel as you exit.

Those who are familiar with El Cote Ingles stores, there's one in the area. But not as close as I was given to think. It's walkable distance though. Our leisurely walk took us about 20 to 25 mins to get there.

Service at hotel, I would say, was good. Also, they're very prompt in responding to emails and also follows up after the stay. If you don't mind not being in the city centre, this would be a nice place to stay.

Having stayed in many 5 star hotels I'd rate this a 4.5 (or tired 5). It's more of a business hotel which is handy to the airport (planes constantly taking off over head) rather than a hotel for a holiday stay. It's also a long way from the centre of town and is a €7-10 taxi ride depending on how far down town you want to go. I concur with other comments regarding the service as you could die of thirst or hunger waiting to be served at anytime of the day. At breakfast the staff couldn't wait to clear the table when I got up to visit the buffet (I hadn't even finished!). Dinner buffet had a rather boring selection for €29, some of which was not even up to the standard of an airline business lounge. There are better and less expensive pickings on the a la carte menu. Stayed in a junior suite which was a good size but rooms are average quality and show signs if wear and tear (marked carpets and furniture, mould in shower). Bed was however very comfortable with feather pillows and duvet. Air con in rooms is basic and typically loud. The gym was well equipped but the pool had a bizarre manditory swimming cap rule which you could purchase for a rip-off €4 if you neglected to bring your own. Also called room service for ice and they wanted to charge €4 for this too (consequently enjoyed a nice warm G&T). Only stayed here due to a conference and wouldn't choose this place for a holiday stay. There are far better 5 star boutique options out there.

Room Tip: Spend more on a larger room.

We stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed it. It is a bit further out of town but the met is over the road and it's cheap enough to jump in a taxi. We used the pool a great way to cool off after sightseeing. The only negative was the terrace bar, although very pleasant, the service was friendly but very slow on both days. Comfy bed and pillows, in fact wish I could have brought them home.

The best hotel I've stayed at in years! Outstanding customer service - staff couldn't have done more to make our stay enjoyable and special.

I was celebrating a special birthday and was upgraded to a suite as were my friends too. Wonderful attention to detail and the rooms were clean and fresh.

Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to discerning customers.

We stayed 3 nights and found the hotel to be superb. All the staff spoke excellent English which was great as my Portuguese is very limited. They were also always very professional and very polite with a smile. We had a Junior Suite and it was very clean, modern and well equipped. Rooms with the best view are the executive ones as they are on floors 20-24 and have fabulous views over the City. We ate and drank at the restaurant and their 3 course evening buffet including a drink was great value at 29.50 Euros as the selection on each course (and as much variety on a plate as you want !) was huge. The bar and outside terrace were very comfortable, spacious and stylish with attentive, fast service. The drink/snack prices are somewhat higher than the average but you are in a 5 star hotel so it should be expected. If you want cheaper then there are a few small restaurants/bars along the road but they are not as stylish/menu variety. The breakfast is amazing with a very wide selection indeed, we needed 3 days to be able to try everything on the menu at least once! Breakfast on the large outside area was fabulous in the morning sun. Underground Metro is across the street and takes16 mins to centre of town or 30 mins to airport with one change, so is very well situated. They happily stored our cases on check out as we had an evening flight back. When I asked my friend what was the most memorable part of our Lisbon visit the reply was "the hotel" - so praise indeed from a guest !

Room Tip: Executive rooms (smaller than a non executive Junior suite) and Executive suites have the exclusive...

We stayed here for one week from 03/06/14. This hotel is 15 minutes by taxi from the airport. I visited with my family and we stayed in double and twin executive rooms. The double executive room was on the 21st floor with amazing views of the viaduct. The rooms were very clean and although I would have expected the room to be slightly larger, it was big enough. We had free wifi in our rooms and were able to visit the VIP lounge area to have breakfast and then go there throughout the day to take advantage of the complimentary snacks and drinks. The service in the VIP lounge area was excellent. In the morning there was a chef on hand to cook eggs whichever way you preferred. There was a cooked breakfast as well as continental breakfast. Staff were very attentive and polite.
The reception area was very nice too with comfy sofas and chairs and the staff very helpful.
The bar area outside provided a relaxing atmosphere and had a big tv screen on one side.
We also had the opportunity to visit the luxurious spa facilities which I must say were the best I have ever been to. I would recommend that you book as soon as you arrive if you are planning to go as it gets very busy.
We bought tickets for the hop on hop off yellow bus service from guest services. This is a great way to see Lisbon over 48 hours. The bus stop for this was a short distance from the hotel.
And if you plan to use the metro station during your stay it is five minutes walk away.
I would recommend visiting Sintra and Cascais if you have time. We hired a taxi from outside the hotel as we were in a group of 4 so worked out cheaper than the trains.
All in all a great holiday and we would definitely stay here again if we were to return.

Room Tip: Ask to have a room with a view of the viaduct.

Booked this hotel on Booking.com and having stayed at The Corinthia in London thought it was a bargain. Although the hotel is 'nice' it isn't a bit like the one in London. The London one is in a different class. Rooms are very nice here in Lisbon but not 5 star also went for a drink in the outside bar and waited at least half an hour and then had to go the the inside bar to order our drinks, they then took another 25 minutes to arrive and they wasn't busy.

Last time we were in Lisbon we stayed at the Tiara and I would say that that is far superior to The Corinthia
