“Another excellent stay”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

I once again enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I came here first time a few ago, and happened to book an executive room back then. Knowing the difference between the rates, I have booked the same hotel and the same executive rate. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I particularly enjoyed the executive club on the 24th floor, thanks to Daniel, who was there most of time, and who made it a very pleasant experience.

I will definitely come back to this hotel

Room Tip: Get an executive room if you can, you will enjoy the executive club.

We had a great time at the Corinthia. Everything was lovely. The staff was friendly and accomodating, the room was clean and comfortable and the hotel breakfast was amazing. I would love to go back and stay there again!

The only thing I will say is that the location is a bit removed from the downtown sight-seeing area. The bus station and metro stop are close by, and there's even a yellow and red "hop on and hop off" bus stop next to the hotel, which is popular and convenient for tourists.

We stayed for a couple of nights and we loved our stay! The room was big and beautiful. We had a suite and it was beyond of what we were expecting. Amazing service. We didnt like the fact of having to pay 4€ per pool hats as it should be part of a five stars hotel. We had the breakfast included and it was really good. Big variety of everything. We didnt like the Tipico Restaurant, no much variety and a bit overpriced. No kids menu being a buffet it is no really worth it as they pay full price. Amazing hotel and defo we will come back!!!

The Corinthia is a wonderful hotel for a business stay or pleasure to see this fascinating city of Lisboa. For business, there is a very comfortable lounge that occupies the top floor where you can work or entertain friends. For pleasure, the hotel has a great gym and outdoor bar with a giant screen to enjoy whilst relaxing in the warm sunshine. And the hotel is easy to get to. Take the airport bus which drops you just a block away. And for getting around the city, the metro line is also nearby. Try visiting the Museu Calouste Gulbenkian which is an easy walk from the hotel and enjoy one of the finest collections of ancient art, modern art, and wonderful gardens that surround it. The Corinthia is highly recommended, as is the fascinating city of Lisboa.

Room Tip: It's definitely worth the upgrade to an executive room to be able to use the lounge which occupi...

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights at the Corinthia at the end of August. We picked the hotel based on the mostly positive reviews and we are so glad that we did.

The staff were excellent at all times through our stay, always very polite and helpful.
Many reviews have suggested this is an excellent hotel for people on business. I would say it is equally excellent for tourist stays.

The rooms are spacious, bright and very clean. The water pressure of the shower was excellent. Even plays music in the bathroom (it's the little things!!).

The hotel has free wifi which is a major plus.

The gym was small but had adequate equipment to use both cardio and weights. All in excellent condition.

The swimming pool and sun deck area was excellent for chilling out. There is a spa offering a number of treatments, which again looked to be good value.

One of the major plus points is the outdoor area at the back of the hotel. It offers a number of comfy outdoor seats where you can enjoy food, or drinks. An excellent area for having a few drinks before going out for dinner. The cocktails were very good.

The subway in lisbon is very easy to navigate and very safe. There is a stop right opposite the hotel that will take you all over lisbon. A taxi into the centre of lisbon will cost about 7-8 euros without a tip.

The Corinthia is situated very close to the airport, so again a taxi did not cost too much, at around 15-20 euros.

Lisbon is one of the most amazing cities, and I would highly recommend staying at this hotel.

We stayed at the Corinthia for 6 nights in August 2013. Very friendly hotel, clean and good facilities, but no more than I would expect of a 5 star hotel. Pool a real bonus for young kids, even though having to buy bathing hats for €4 each is a bit of a rip off. Breakfast very expensive at €18 per person but several cafes near by do decent continental breakfast - several times we had 3 breakfasts for €6. Location near Jardim Zoologico metro station and zoo is good, but otherwise a very non-descript area with nothing of interest nearby apart from the zoo. Metro to downtown Lisbon is 15 mins, and 20 mins to Cais do Sodre train station with direct trains to Cascais and the Estoril coast. Overall would recommend.

Me and my partner stayed here from the 8th to the 13th of August and had a wonderful time. We arrived at the hotel mid afternoon but were not able to check in until 14.30 however, this was understandable as the hotel was really busy. The staff were all very polite and made you feel really welcome, nothing was too much hassle for them and all our requests were dealt with promptly and with a smile. We had a good chat with one of the hotel staff who sat us down and recommend places that we should visit during our stay. She recommended going to a place located 26km outside of Lisbon called Sintra which ended up being one of the highlights of our holiday. I doubt we would have visited Sintra if she hadn't told us about it so we can only thank her for that.

The breakfast at the hotel was outstanding. Plenty to choose from so it didn't get boring and it was great to be able to dine outside. The fresh fruit was especially delicious, as was everything else I ate. Fresh Omelettes and waffles were available over at the live cooking station. Load's of gluten free options which was great for me. If you stay at this hotel I definitely recommend you book breakfast, you will not be disappointed!

We ate at the hotel bar once for lunch which was good but the service seemed a bit slow. Price wasn't too expensive and the food tasted nice and fresh. On our first night we considered going to the dinner at the hotel buffet but thought the 30 euros per person was a bit pricey.

My partner loved the spa and made use of the sun deck. The pool was very nice and a good size, there is also gym which overlooks garden at the back of the hotel.

Our room was excellent and very spacious for a standard room, we had a brilliant view of the bridge and could see all the planes that were coming into land. Equipped with all the amenities you would expect from a 5 star hotel including free Wi-Fi which is fast and reliable. My girlfriend commented on the the hairdryer being particularity good which I believe is unusual for hotels. The radio in the toilet was a nice touch, bed was large and comfy and the air conditioning worked flawlessly.TV channels were okay; Sky News, CNN, BBC Entertainment etc. I didn't really care because I don't go on holiday to watch the TV.

Hotel location is not great if you plan on walking but it's right next to the metro so you can travel anywhere in a matter of minutes. We actually liked being further out of the city because it's a lot more peaceful than the old town area. There are only a couple of places to eat near the hotel. I recommend trying out Sabor Mineiro which is a Brazilian restaurant and Sixten Malhoa which is an Italian. You can find them by going out the back door of the Corinthia and turning left, both are located about a 100 yards up the street on the same side of the road as the hotel. The Corinthia is located 10 - 15 minute drive from the airport so very convenient. We booked a return airport transfer but if we go back we will probably just take the metro since it's so close.

Lisbon zoo is just across the road and is well worth the visit, the dolphin show is brilliant. We went to both the zoo and the oceanarium and thought the zoo was miles better. The oceanarium was very dull and boring, no idea how it's ranked number 1 out of all the attractions in Lisbon.

Our holiday to Lisbon was awesome and if we go back we will definitely be staying at the Corinthia.
